HORI7ON Surrenders to Romance in New R&B-Pop Single “Lunod”

Following a successful Valentine’s season launch, all-Filipino global pop group HORI7ON is celebrating the chart-topping success of their new single “Lunod,” which arrived on February 13, 2026 across all major streaming platforms. Since its debut, the track has captured the #1 spot on the iTunes Philippines Top Songs chart.

“Lunod,” which translates to “Drown,” centers on the feeling of willingly giving oneself over to love, even without certainty of what may follow. It captures the thrill of falling in love alongside the quiet fear of unreturned feelings, framing love as something deeply consuming yet consciously chosen. Rather than offering reassurance or resolution, the song leans into emotional courage, choosing surrender despite unanswered questions.

HORI7ON

The romantic R&B-pop ballad reveals a softer, more intimate side of the group, venturing into the other side of P-pop where emotional vocals and storytelling take center stage. Marking a new era for HORI7ON, the release reflects a moment of transition as the group defines their identity as global artists. Known for their electrifying performances such as “Dash”, “SIX7EEN”, “Lucky”, and “Sumayaw Sumunod”, they shift focus to vocal maturity and emotional depth. The song, meant to deepen the connection with their fans, the ANCHORs, through warmth, sincerity, and relatability.

Quiet Admiration

Originally composed and arranged by J.O Sarmiento, a P-pop artist and songwriter, the song draws from quiet admiration and the familiar feeling of having a crush admired from afar. HORI7ON’s leader, Vinci, contributed additional lyrics to the track, helping shape its emotional honesty as the members internalized the song’s feelings and allowed their own vulnerabilities to surface.

Vinci shared, “For this release we aim to expand the depth of HORI7ON’s discography. The song has a mellow, soulful feel to it that we hope will be felt by our ANCHORS. In contrast with our last single, ‘LUNOD’ will be the warm embrace after ‘COLD’. This full Filipino single is an addition to our growing roster of OPM songs. With relatable lyrics that speak to the heart, we aim to connect more deeply with our Filipino audiences”.

The lyrics unfold as a gentle plea, beginning with a request for closeness and framing love as a shared journey rather than something assumed. At the heart of the song is the chorus, which poses its defining question: “Lunurin mo ako ng pag-ibig mo. Sasagipin mo ba ako?”. This moment lays bare the vulnerability, offering love without any promise of reciprocation. Rooted in modern Filipino songwriting with a timeless R&B sensibility, the track balances nostalgia with a contemporary sound. While its title evokes the ocean, the song’s atmosphere leans toward warmth, reflecting the comfort found in emotional surrender.
