H.E.R. To Receive IMPACT AWARD at #BBWomenInMusic 2022
Exciting news! Billboard announced H.E.R. to receive Impact Award!
Soon it will be time again for the annual Billboard Women In Music Awards for the year 2022.
This celebration recognizes the industry’s rising and A-list stars, creators, producers and executives for their contributions to the music industry and community.
Billboard‘s annual event acknowledges all the women who made substantial contributions to the industry. Indeed, these women have been the inspirations of women in the sector via their work and continuous success.
Said event will give out 18 awards, including the Woman of the Year, Rising Star Award, Trailblazer Award and many more.
American Express sponsors the Impact Award, honouring musicians who use their platform to promote positive change while also supporting women in the music industry.
Came back stronger and better
H.E.R., who was born Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson, is a Filipino-American actress and singer. Now, the 24-year-old singer specializes in R&B ballads.
Before, she first started her singing career at 14 back in 2011. She then re-emerged in late 2016 with a new persona, and she introduced herself as H.E.R.
The Grammy-winning singer was chosen for her commitment to supporting local companies.
H.E.R. took it on her account to express her excitement for the event.
Additionally, a few celebrities will perform at the event next month at Hollywood Park’s YouTube Theater. I seriously can’t wait for H.E.R. to be there and perform!
Meanwhile, Billboard announced Olivia Rodrigo as the recipient of the “Woman of the Year” award. The fans will also be thrilled to know that the 2009 award holder, Ciara, will be the host.
Consequently, here are the confirmed performers/award recipients so far:
- Gabby Barrett will receive the Rising Star Award presented by Honda.
- Phoebe Bridgers will receive the Trailblazer Award.
- Doja Cat will receive the Powerhouse Award.
- Golnar Khosrowshahi (Founder & CEO of Reservoir Media) will receive the Executive of the Year Award.

"Leanne or LJ -- as what her friends would like to call her-- is a walking enigma. She loves reading books more than going out, but would if her family drags her out. The limelight was never her spot, and if you look hard enough, you'll find her in a corner enjoying her peace in the shadows of other people's light.
