‘Heartstopper’ gets two more seasons!
The British coming-of-age, romantic, teen drama television series Heartstopper, gets another two more seasons. On May 20, 2022, the creator Alice Oseman posted on her official Instagram account the important announcement. Besides the announcement, she also posted a progress video of an illustration of the main characters Nick and Charlie.
The Heartstopper series follows the high school romance of two teenage boys, Charlie Spring, and Nick Nelson. Not to mention, their amazing friends Elle Argent, Tao Xu, Isaac Henderson, Tara Jones, and Darcy Olsson. Together, the group tries to change the narrative of romance between LGBTQIA+ teenagers. Furthermore, the series also gives its watchers an idea of how to be a progressive ally despite their SOGIE.
Fans also gave recognition to its striking soundtrack. Since its release, songs featured in the series have consequently increased in chart sales. The list involves a lot of iconic queer anthems such as Want Me by Baby Queen, Sappho by Frankie Cosmos, Girls by Girl in Red, and Why Am I Like This? by Orla Gartland. A heartstopper indeed!
What to expect in the next seasons?
It has only been a month since the release of the television series Heartstopper. But despite that, fans are eager to see more from the heartwarming series. Seeing that Charlie and Nick have officially made themselves each other’s boyfriends in the last episode of season one; fans are enthralled. What would happen next?
In an interview with Digital Spy, Alice Oseman said:
If we do get future seasons, I’ll definitely want to be bringing in the themes of mental health; because that’s something that’s really important in the books; the challenge of writing Heartstopper is exploring those darker issues while keeping the tone so optimistic and hopeful; that has been like the struggle of writing it for me the whole way through,

Now that it was confirmed that we are going to have two more seasons, all we have to do is wait. Nevertheless, I think waiting will not be difficult. Many generations have been patient enough to see themselves represented. It is quite fascinating to have such a series that represents LGBTQIA+ teenagers where the balance of drama and innocence prevalent in the teenage years was attained.
