From Rainbow to the Crown: The reign of Keylyn Trajano

The life of a beauty queen may seem easy for many — a crown on her head, walking with grace, and a big smile on her face. But for Keylyn, it’s different. Her reign carries a greater purpose, not just for herself, but for her entire community. This is the life of Keylyn Trajano, the Filipina beauty queen who has conquered both national and international pageants. From winning local titles to gracing prestigious competitions abroad, she has consistently broken barriers in Philippine pageantry.

Her journey reached a historic milestone when she was crowned Universal Woman Arabia 2025, a prestigious pageant celebrating empowerment and inclusivity across the Middle East becoming the first transgender woman to hold the title. Carrying both the Philippine and Arab flags, Keylyn uses her reign to champion inclusivity, representation, and empowerment — proving that true queens break boundaries and inspire others to follow their path.

The Queen’s Backbone and Foundation of Keylyn Trajano

FROM RAINBOW

Keylyn draws strength, bravery, and courage from the love, support, and acceptance she receives at home. Her mom constantly encourages her to keep going as long as she serves her community.

Keylyn knows that not all transgender women share the same experience. Many find acceptance outside their homes, often from peers, friends or even strangers. This reality fuels her advocacy for visibility and inclusion. She speaks against the stigma that still labels the LGBTQ community as a “virus” or a contagious “illness.”

“I hope and wish that my story and presence in this global stage would open the eyes of some and see how being a transwoman is a blessing, not a curse and a plague.”

Breaking the Barrier, Owning the Crown

Many people still try to limit what trans women can achieve. She refuses to accept that.

“Our life, our choices,” she declares. “No one else should dictate our story.”

Winning in an all-women pageant sends a strong message to the world: trans women can stand on equal footing. International audiences have embraced this progress, and Keylyn hopes the Philippines will follow.

“I still believe our country will see the light,” she says.

The Voice of the Voiceless

Keylyn reminds LGBTQ youth that even if society doesn’t always listen, their voice still matters.

“Dream big, aspire to be better than you are today, embrace the ambitions beyond what you see, cause nobody should tell you otherwise,” she says.

For her, the courage to be part of the LGBTQ community alone shows how brave people are.

“You are brave, you are able to hold and live your truth, and you are a step further to achieve greatness.”

She wants LGBTQ youth to remember that the colors of the rainbow symbolize their story, and as LGBTQ members, they are to be nurturing, colorful, loving, compassionate, and most of all, “GAY- MASAYAHIN.”

From rainbow to crown, Keylyn Trajano’s journey stands as proof that courage and authenticity can rewrite history. She wears her crown not just for herself, but for every member of the LGBTQ+ community still waiting to be seen, heard, and celebrated. Her story reminds the Philippines — and the world — that inclusion and kindness are the greatest powers in achieving what once seemed impossible.
