December just got merrier with the opening of PH first float-in cinema
Attention movie enthusiasts! We know you’ve been missing film theaters and cinemas for quite a time now because of the ongoing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic that forced said establishments to closure. To appease cinephiles, a mall in Pasay City opened a drive-in cinema in September to ensure social distancing.
Don’t worry, it will all go back in time. As we wait, we are glad to share exciting news with you as our country introduces its first-ever float-in cinema by Megaworld at the McKinley Hill in Taguig City. It’s surely a whole other experience!
“We can’t keep it a secret any longer! We’re so excited to be bringing the first and only float-in cinema in the Philippines this December.

It is set to open to the public this month at the Venice Grand Canal Mall, the place famous for its gondola ride inspired by the Italian town. Admission is priced at P500 per head, inclusive of a medium popcorn and bottled water. One gondola can occupy a maximum of two people and the movies can be enjoyed via a projected 12.7 m x 6.7 m giant screen along the Grand Canal.
To maximize the viewing experience, the watchers’ personal earphones will be plugged into the gondolas. They are also encouraged to wear masks at all times and observe health protocols to avoid infection. Tickets are available and can be purchased in advance through Megaworld Cinemas’ website.
