Cinemalaya 2022 Film Screening in Ayala Malls and SM Cinemas
After two years of online screening, Cinemalaya 2022 films will screen in selected SM Cinemas and Ayala Malls Cinemas.
Cinemalaya 2022 Film Competition
For this year’s edition of Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival, they will return with an onsite screening in 10 selected SM Cinemas and Ayala Malls Cinemas. The partnership of Cinemalaya Foundation and Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) with Ayala Malls and SM Cinemas made it possible for the special film screening.
The 18th edition of the Cinemalaya Festival, which has the theme “Breaking Through the Noise” will feature full-length and short films for the competition starting in August.
Cinemalaya will showcase 11 full-length films and 12 short feature films from August 10, Wednesday to Tuesday, August 16.
Under Ayala Malls cinemas, five branches will be participating in the screening – TriNoma, Manila Bay, Capitol Central Bacolod, CDO and Glorietta. For SM Cinemas—SM City Clark, SM City Baguio, SM Megamall, SM City Dasmariñas and SM City Legazpi.

- Blue Room by Ma-an L. Asuncion- Dagñalan
- Bula sa Langit by Sheenly Gener
- Kaluskos by Roman S. Perez Jr.
- Ginahawa by Christian Paolo Lat
- Kargo by TM Malones
- Retirada by Milo Alto Paz and Cynthia Cruz – Paz
- The Baseball Player by Carlo Obispo
These are the 12 short feature films in year’s film festival:

- Dikit by Gabriela Serrano
- Distance by Dexter Paul de Jesus
- Duwas-Duwa (The Play) by Nena Jana Achacoso
- Kwits (Quits) by Raz dela Torre
- Mata Kang Busay (Vision of the Falls) by Niño B. Maldecir
- Mga Handum nga Nasulat sa Baras (The Dreams That Are Written On The Sand) by Arlie Sweet Sumagaysay and Richard Jeroui Salvadico
- See You, George! By Mark Moneda
- Si Oddie by Maria Moneda
- Roundtrip to Happiness by Claudia Fernando
As part of the screening, they will have talkback sessions on three full-length films. This is where the audiences can as their questions and also give their feedback about the film to the film producer, cast, and production team.
This event will happen on August 10 after the film screening of Kargo and Ginhawa at Megamall and Glorietta. Also on August 11, after the screening of Retirada at TriNoma.
The competing films will also have screenings in selected regional communities that will be available from August 22 to 29. Meanwhile, the film festival online screening will run from October 17 to 31 via the CCP Vimeo Account.
