Cindy Obeñita reflects on Miss Intercontinental 2021 triumph
Cinderella “Cindy” Faye Obeñita prepares herself for her reign as Miss Intercontinental 2021.
This comes after her victory from the said pageant in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt last Saturday, October 30.
The power of beauty
The beauty queen reflected on her win on Instagram last Sunday, November 30, saying she will showcase the “Filipino brand of beauty.”
She wrote,
“Mabuhay, Pilipinas! We made it here, where it all began. Now begins a new journey to circle the continents and bring our Filipino brand of beauty, Power of Beauty that is felt in the kindness of our hearts and the sincerity of our loving actions!”
Lastly, she expressed her gratitude for her fellow countrymen’s continuous support.
“To all Filipinos, I am forever grateful for your support.”
In an Instagram Story, Cindy also acknowledged her supporters, saying,
“We made it Philippines! My heart is overflowing with gratitude for your unwavering support! Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat.”
The 27-year-old from Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental bested 70 other candidates in the international pageant.
Also, Cindy is only the second Filipina to win the crown and title of Miss Intercontinental, after Karen Gallman.
Her winning answer
During the question-and-answer portion, she was asked if speaking English is important for being Miss Intercontinental.
“As an ambassador, I don’t think that speaking a specific language is very important here in Miss Intercontinental or any pageant at all. As long as that woman is a woman of power and grace, commitment, and intelligence, no matter what language she speaks and that woman is actually a woman of style and substance then she can win any pageant or any endeavor that she is into.”
Furthermore, she added,
“Also, it’s very important, I have learned here actually in Miss Intercontinental that a woman should be or should possess power of substance and I believe I am that woman because that is the essence of a modern-day Miss Intercontinental, that we are living in a world wherein it’s very hard to survive. And as Miss Intercontinental, I would like to be that source of hope, that source of inspiration on the true power of beauty and that is felt on the kindness of our hearts and definitely on the sincerity of our loving actions.”
The Binibining Pilipinas organization also celebrated her victory on their social media accounts, writing,
“From a Binibini who won the hearts of many Filipino fans, she impressed the whole world with her grace and charm throughout her pageant performance in Egypt.”
Furthermore, the organization has yet to announce when Cindy will return to the Philippines for her homecoming.
We cannot wait to witness your reign as Miss Intercontinental, Cindy!
