Choosing the Right Color Scheme for Your Home
Choosing color scheme for your home is the first thing that comes in our mind. Although in reality, we still don’t have the budget to start building it.
Setting this as a goal is a good thing.
So, to my co-dreamers, and to the people that are on the process of building a home, here are some tips that will help you choose the right color:
Assess your style
Ask if yourself if you are minimalist. If you like black, or just the plain color of brutalist houses, know what you really want.
Reflect with your personality. Are you mysterious, jolly, or chill? Personality has its colors that represent them. So if you know your personality, this will help you in deciding what color would you want your home to have.
Power of white
Using white can enhance the natural lighting of your home. It will look clean, and really inviting. If used in walls indoors, it will make the room look brighter and spacious.
Also, white is a popular color right now, especially when combined with “kahoy interiors“. People attracted to this are referred as “Team Kahoy”.
Balance
Using neutral tones can give your home a contemporary look. This really visually appealing since the colors are not overwhelming. Avoid using too many patterns and colors because this looks really heavy and sometimes creates an illusion that your room is not that spacious.
Test it
Always try to test colors before committing to it. You can tell your architect/interior designer to try a certain color scheme and put in the rendered house design, so you can see the result before deciding.
By testing it first, you won’t regret your decision in the end.
After making the final decision and applying this to your home, the first look at the result is really satisfying.
