New Balance Run Your Way Takes Over Makati

New Balance Run Your Way Takes Over Makati

New Balance recently transformed Makati into a vibrant playground of movement, creativity, and culture with the Run Your Way. More than just a running event, it was a celebration of self-expression, bringing together runners, artists, and culture-shapers under one banner: #RunYourWay.

The idea was simple but powerful – running doesn’t have to look one way because for some, it’s about chasing peace. For others, it’s about building strength, finding purpose, or just having fun. Every stride tells a story, and during the weekend, the city itself became the canvas.

Joining the run, Red Light Run Club, a group that calls themselves “running misfits” also known for building a community where anyone can join, making running feel free, fun, and inclusive. Their energy added to the spirit of the event, showing that running can be as much about connection as it is about fitness.

With Makati as the backdrop, from its skyscrapers to hidden murals and weekend soundscapes, the run became a living map of how the city moves and creates.

Reclaiming space in the city

The morning began at Ayala Triangle Gardens, where runners gathered for a 3KM loop through the lush green heart of Makati which set the tone of the run and reminded everyone that running can also mean reclaiming space in the city for movement and connection.

From there, the route unfolded like a tour through Makati’s creative spirit. At Annex House, the energy shifted from physical movement to artistic expression. Runners paused to soak in open mic sessions, groove to DJ sets, and watch live performances, with art corners inviting anyone to pick up a brush or pen and add their own mark. The stop captured the essence perfectly that running isn’t just about miles logged, but about energy shared.

The vibe continued at The Treehouse, tucked into the buzz of Poblacion. Here, the focus turned to food and flavor. Curated kitchens served up dishes and refuel drinks that kept everyone fueled, while the setting reminded participants that nourishment like running can be both communal and joyful.

At Jaime Velasquez Park, the pace slowed for a community cooldown. Runners-turned-friends stretched, breathed, and connected, reflecting on a morning that had been as much about togetherness as it was about distance.

Finally, the route wrapped up at Open House World, where coffee and refreshments were waiting alongside displays and New Balance merch. It wasn’t just a finish line, but a chance to linger, chat, and celebrate a different kind of run that blurred the lines between sport, art, and culture.

The Run Your Way event showed running doesn’t have to be measured only in pace or distance. It can be about the people you meet, the stories you share, and the city you rediscover along the way.

For New Balance, the event was a reminder that movement is personal and creative, and when brought into the community, it becomes a celebration of individuality, connection, and the many ways we all choose to run our way.
