What’s new on ‘The Last of Us Part I’ remake?

The multi-awarded video game The Last of Us is getting an exclusive remake for PS5. Developed by Naughty Dogs, the remake will be released on September 2, 2022. The PC version is still under development with no release date yet.

The Last of Us is a third-person survival video game that follows the story of Joel and Ellie in a post-apocalyptic world. They work together to survive and find a cure that plagued the human race. The original version was released back in 2013 for PS3 with a remastered version the following year for PS4.

The Glow Up

Naughty Dogs guarantees that the remake version will have enhanced combat controls and accessibility options while keeping many parts from the original game.

The graphics greatly improved for the remake version based on its trailer. It has a finer and more realistic atmosphere and environment. The lighting noticeably improved as well.

What catches the eye are the characters and the infected. The infected have a more detailed realistic texture that makes them scarier.

Joel and Ellie’s model is almost similar to the original but with more detailed features like hair and mouth movements. The color grading of the characters was also enhanced.

The Remake version will not include its multi-player mode from the original. This mode has been removed since The Last of Us Part II (2020).
