Offered in three variants – Reno10 5G, Reno10 Pro 5G, and Reno10 Pro+ 5G – the OPPO Reno10 Series 5G caters to diverse consumer preferences and budgets.
For our #VPTechReviews, we received two models: the Reno10 Pro 5G in Silvery Grey and the Reno10 Pro+ 5G in Glossy Purple. This review will predominantly delve into the latter variant.
Premium Glossy Purple Design
The Reno10 Series 5G shares near-identical designs, with the only distinction being the Reno10 Pro+ 5G’s slightly larger rear camera setup, discernible upon inspecting its specifications.
Presenting itself in Glossy Purple, our Reno10 Pro+ 5G boasts a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 back, enhancing durability. Visually and tangibly, the device exudes a blend of porcelain-like and metallic textures, creating a premium aesthetic. Despite this, its slight slipperiness in hand presents a minor drawback. My usual aversion to fingerprint-prone designs is bypassed by this model’s effective fingerprint resistance, remaining subtle and tolerable. Furthermore, with a svelte 8.28 mm profile and mere 1.38 mm left and right bezels, this slim, lightweight device fits comfortably in pockets, ensuring portability.
Furthermore, the back houses a distinctive pillow-shaped triple-camera module at the top-left. This assembly, composed of drop and corrosion-resistant glass and aluminum, effectively shields the cameras.

The OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G features a 6.74-inch Ultra-Clear Borderless Display on its front. Boasting a resolution of 2772×1240, it covers 100% of the P3 wide color gamut. Moreover, the device allows you to select between 120Hz and 60Hz refresh rates, catering to your preferred smoothness while conserving power.
Furthermore, during testing, I observed the screen’s remarkable clarity and color accuracy in photos and videos. This is attributed to OPPO’s ProXDR Smart Display technology, delivering up to 1100nits brightness and enhancing lifelike lighting and shadow details in portrait images.
Moreover, the screen incorporates drop protection. The OLED display features AGC DragontraillTM Star 2 cover glass, offering 20% better drop resistance than Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5.
Entertainment to the next-level!
Equipped with advanced image-enhancing features and technology, this model elevates the entertainment experience, fitting in our palms seamlessly. The OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G supports HDR 10+ videos, and is also compatible with HDR video playback on Amazon Prime Video. While engrossed in my favorite K-drama, this model transforms into a pocket cinema with its stunning visuals. The screen enhancements in this model represent one of the finest improvements within the entire OPPO Reno series. Additionally, it comes with an impressive audio quality thanks to its Dual Track Stereo Speaker. Remarkably, even during extended binge-watching sessions, it remains comfortably cool and exhibits minimal lags, which can be attributed to a stable internet connection.
Take Ultra-Clear Photos like a Pro
As previously mentioned, the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G features a triple rear camera, branded the Ultra-Clear Portrait Camera System. This system comprises a 50MP Ultra-Clear Main Camera, a 112° Ultra-Wide-Angle Camera, and a unique 64MP Telephoto Portrait Camera, an unusual feature for mid-range smartphones.
The 50MP Ultra-Clear Main Camera, with its IMX890 sensor, excels in capturing accurate colors and details, day or night. OIS minimizes blur in photos and videos. Instant photo enhancement is noticeable upon viewing.
Additionally, the rear camera’s standout feature is its ability to capture 112° Ultra-Wide-Angle shots at 0.6x. Meanwhile the default shorts are 1x to 3x, and 6x zoom levels.
Secondly, addressing its zooming capability, the 8MP camera enables 112° Ultra-Wide-Angle shots. Our testing revealed image clarity, aided by anti-facial distortion technology for impeccable side portraits and stylish selfies using the rear camera.
Lastly, my favored camera in the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G is the 64MP Telephoto Portrait Camera. Unlike software-enhanced alternatives in mid-range smartphones, this model features a genuine, industry-leading high-megapixel telephoto portrait camera. With OIS and 3x optical zoom, It stands out as the only mid-range smartphone camera capable of achieving up to 120x digital zoom, as exemplified in the sample photos below.
Taking Portrait photos like a PRO!
With its Telephoto Portrait Camera system, a significant and first-ever upgrade in the Reno10 Series 5G, capturing splendid photos is effortless. Enriched with 64 mega pixels and a large 1/2-inch sensor, this camera excels in light sensitivity. Furthermore, a larger cylinder lens has been integrated by OPPO to enhance image stabilization, offering a wider anti-shake angle. This capability ensures impeccable optical-quality zoom, even in low-light conditions due to the extended shutter speed.
Furthermore, the camera’s substantial f/2.5 maximum aperture and 25 cm minimum focusing distance facilitate a natural optical bokeh effect with a shallow depth of field, while maintaining detail and clarity. Worth noting is OPPO’s In-sensor Zoom Technology, which sustains good photo quality even at 6x zoom. Sample photos are presented above.
Ultra-Clear Selfie
For our Village and VP Tech readers who, like me, enjoy selfies, the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G offers a worthy experience. Sporting a 32MP Auto-Focus camera, it utilizes the co-designed IMX709 sensor by OPPO and Sony. This enhances low-light captures, color reproduction, and image quality. Regarding its internal power, the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G excels among mid-range smartphones we’ve tested, exhibiting minimal performance glitches and delays. Having used this model for weeks – which explains the slight delay in releasing this review – I can confidently affirm that it delivers flagship-level performance despite its mid-range classification.
The Reno10 Pro+ 5G operates on the Snapdragon® 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform, a flagship processor crafted using TSMC’s 4nm process technology. This processor notably achieves up to 30% reduction in CPU and GPU power consumption, ensuring commendable power efficiency.
Furthermore, the device operates on OPPO’s ColorOS 13, boasting the robust Dynamic Computing Engine and up to 12GB of RAM. Our unit offers ample 256GB storage, catering well to social media enthusiasts capturing photos and videos.
Charge in a Flash!
The OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G houses a 4700mAh Large Battery, slightly shorter than recent releases from other brands. However, it’s important to highlight OPPO’s Battery Health Engine’s effort in prolonging battery life. In our tests, the battery’s lifespan proves considerable.
Additionally, the device features the 100W SuperVOOClTM Flash Charge, claiming to reach 50% charge in just 9.5 minutes and full charge in 27 minutes. This makes it the fastest charging model in any OPPO Reno series to date.
To assess its charging prowess, we depleted the OPPO Reno 10 Pro+ 5G’s battery. Starting at 5:31 PM, within 3 minutes, the battery indicated 1% charge, marking the countdown. In less than 12 minutes, it reached 37% charge, 60% in 21 minutes, and fully charged in 37 minutes by 6:11 PM.
Though about 10 minutes longer than the marketed 27-minute full charge, this model remains the fastest charging mid-range phone we’ve tested, surpassing recent competitors. Notably, charging generated minimal heat, courtesy of its Ultra-low Temperature Charging Mode. Kudos to OPPO!
BENCHMARK
To gauge its performance, we conducted varied benchmarking tests, utilizing apps like AnTuTu, Geekbench 6, 3DMark, and CPDT.
3D Mark Wild Life: 2,757 at an average of 16.51 fps
CPDT: Sequential write speeds of 483.22MB/s, sequential read speeds of 353.17MB/s.
This model outperforms mid-range phones highlighting camera prowess, showcasing its superiority based on these app results. However, the price range should also be taken into account.
