VP/Tech: realme Note 50 – Unboxing and First Impression
realme Philippines starts 2024 with teasers of their latest handset, the realme Note 50, set to launch globally, with the Philippines being the first on January 24.
Being one of the first to test the unit, this article highlights the unboxing and first impressions, exploring if the realme Note 50 truly lives up to the brand’s campaign for this series as “long-lasting value.”
The Unboxing
The realme Note 50, the latest addition to the Note series, comes in realme’s signature yellow box. The design is sleek, with the brand and model displayed prominently on the front and key specifications on the back.
Upon opening, you’ll find a mini phablet-like box with the slogan “make it real.” Inside, you’ll discover the SIM ejector, Quick Guide, warranty documents, and a free Jellycase.
Furthermore, the realme Note 50, covered in eco-plastic, is revealed after the mini-phablet box. Also included are a USB-A to USB-C cable and a 10W charging adapter.
Build and Aesthetics
The realme Note 50, a newcomer in the entry-level smartphone market, features a familiar design with a two-tone finish at the back. Our review unit, in Sky Blue, boasts a sleek appearance with a smudge-free matte finish.
Moreover, the back houses a similar triple-camera setup, but it only features a dual-camera, with the third lens reserved for the LED flash. Additionally, the front sports a large 6.74-inch screen with a punch-hole front camera and realme’s mini capsule.
Furthermore, on the sides, you’ll find the sim-card tray on the upper left, accommodating triple sim cards. Meanwhile, the power and volume rocker on the right. The bottom houses the USB-Type C charging port, a mini microphone hole, speaker grills, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
We will delve deeper into its other features in our full VP Tech Review.
Durability
Despite being categorized as the newest budget-phone from realme, the brand generously includes added durability protection for the realme Note 50. It comes equipped with IP54 Dust & Water Resistance, certified to provide protection against accidental splashes and other incidents.
Furthermore, the model holds TÜV Rheinland certification for peak performance and hardware-level endurance against external damage. It successfully passed High Reliability tests, including Rain Resistance, Micro-drop Tests, 1 Meter Free Falls.
Additionally, it exudes Extreme Temperature Tests, Button and USB Port Tests, RF Tests, and Abrasion plus Distortion Tests. This extra durability feature is not commonly found in entry-level phones.
The realme Note 50 will officially launch in the Philippines on January 24.
