Thea Astley shows grit and grace in performing
The Clash Season 2 1st Runner Up Thea Astley earned the respect and love of the Filipino audience because of her powerful voice and impeccable charm during the intense vocal battles of the competition. She might have not took home the title, but Thea finished stronger than expected.
Thea grew up in Qatar with her family but she always knew that her talent was made to be honed in her home country. Armed with a courageous heart and a high timbre that can belt out iconic songs across generations. She made herself worthy of the recognitions.
Thea: Blessing upon blessings
In an Instagram post, Thea expressed her gratitude towards GMA Artist Center. “Blessings upon blessings upon blessings. I can never express enough how thankful I am to the Lord and to my dearest family for the opportunities that are being presented to me and for introducing me to people who believe in me.”
Furthermore, she asks her now growing fan base to continually support her every step of the way. “There is still so much more to work to explore, people to meet, and music to create. I hope you guys will hang on with me in this journey.”
She also attributes their success to The Clash, “Hindi naman po namin in-expect na from The Clash, makakarating kami rito kaya sobrang ipinagpapasalamat po talaga namin and especially right now na pumirma na po kami ng contract, hindi po namin makakalimutan lahat ng taong nasa likod ng The Clash na tumulong at gumabay sa amin.”
What sets Thea apart from her fellow contestants is the grit and grace she exudes whenever performing. She’s currently a mainstay performer at the weekend musical-comedy-variety show All-Out Sundays. Of course, she showcases her vocal prowess in various renditions of different songs.
