The Haunting of Bly Manor — Hill House’s sequel set to scare on Netflix this October
Mike Flanagan’s anthology thriller returns with a new tale of a haunted house this October. Netflix drops its first trailer yesterday, August 31 and garners almost a hundred thousand views an hour after its release.
The Plot
The supernatural drama will be loosely based on the 1898 horror novella “The Turn of the Screw” by Henry James. The story tells about a young governess tasked to look after two orphans at the family country house – Bly Manor. As she further stayed there, she began seeing apparitions that convinced her to believe that the mansion is haunted.
The Cast
The Haunting of Bly Manor stars Victoria Pedretti, Henry Thomas, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Kate Siegel, T’Nia Miller, Rahul Kohli, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Amelie Smith and Amelia Eve.
Although some of the actors already appeared in “Hill House,” they will not be reprising their roles for the follow-up show. Showrunner and director Flanagan confirmed this as he told previously to Entertainment Weekly. “As far as I’ve ever been concerned with this, the story of the Crain family is told. It’s done.”
Victoria Pedretti and Oliver Jackson-Cohen will then return as new characters. Pedretti will play Dani, the young governess who takes care of the two children, and Jackson-Cohen will portray Peter, a charming fellow.
The Haunting of Bly Manor will stream beginning October 9 on Netflix. Watch the first teaser trailer of the horror series below.
