Ten young actors to watch out for this 2021

2020 has been really tough for most of us. However, the entertainment scene became one of the most affected industries. With the changes in the TV and movie production landscape in this new normal world, this has become a challenge for many young and promising actors. This 2021, film and TV projects resume their production shoots with health protocols in place. We have seen faces who are now ready to take the industry by storm. In this list, our editors have chosen 10 female stars who will surely become the talk of the town in no time!

Aljon Mendoza

After his Pinoy Big Brother: Otso stint, Aljon Mendoza is surely one of this generation’s promising male stars. The 19-year-old actor already appeared in various TV and movie projects Hoy Love You (2021), The Four Bad Boys and Me (2020), and Sandugo (2019).

Elijah Canlas

No doubt, Elijah Canlas is the most awarded young actor of this generation. His movie Kalel, 15 earned him his Best Actor Awards in prestigious award-giving bodies Gawad Urian, FAMAS,  Tallinn International Film Festival in Estonia, and 17th Asian Film Festival held in Rome, Italy.

In May 2020, he was cast as one of the main actors in the YouTube series, Gameboys. Produced by The IdeaFirst Company, it is a boys love (BL) series that tackles the story of two young men who find each other online amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kokoy de Santos

Kokoy de Santos now has the title, the BL Prince of the Philippines. His series with Elijah Canlas, Gameboys, became one of the most successful BL series in the country. In the recently concluded VP Choice Awards, Kokoy won the Promising Male Star of the Year.

Royce Cabrera

Royce Cabrera rose to fame with his brave role in the Cinemalaya film Fuccbois. Since then, he appeared in various films and TV series. He later became an exclusive artist of GMA Artist Center and set to star in the series Nagbabagang Luha.

Vince Crisostomo

Vince Crisostomo remains the newest Kapuso heartthrob. His role in the highly-successful series PrimaDonnas earned him popularity among the Filipino viewers.

Radson Flores

Radson Flores joined StarStruck Season 7. Although he did not win, he bagged various projects in television. Just recently, GMA Network announced that he will portray the role of  Mark Gordon in the upcoming Kapuso live-action series ‘Voltes V: Legacy’.

Abdul Raman

Just like Radson, Abdul Raman did not win the Kapuso talent search. However, this young actor now makes a name for himself in the entertainment industry. He sets to star in the family drama Legal Wives with Shayne Sava as his on-screen partner.

Joaquin Domagoso

Joaquin Domoagosa is the son of Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno. This young artist remains a talented dancer and a budding actor. He currently stars in the primetime series First Yaya with Cassy Legaspi as his onscreen love team.

Kelvin Miranda

Kelvin Miranda is one talented actor. From his critically-acclaimed role in the Netflix series Dead Kids to his role as the chef-businessman in the GMA Network series, The Lost Recipe, this 22-year-old actor proves his spot in the TV and film industry.

Mavy Legaspi

Of course, half of the Legaspi twins join this list. Mavy is now active in TV with his multiple shows, Sarap ‘Di Ba? and All-Out Sundays. We have seen Mavy, together with Cassy, from their ice cream commercial grown into talented artists.
