Tasty makes dreams come true with I Draw, You Cook
What a delight to have your dream dish on paper be served to you as actual food on a platter. In Buzzfeed Tasty’s series, I Draw, You Cook, we get to witness that kind of magic. The kids’ most magical and peculiar sketches of their imaginary dish come to life through Tasty Producers’ imaginative interpretation and presentation.
Tasty makes dreams come true with I Draw, You Cook
Head-to-head to win the hearts of the kid artist, two Tasty producers do their own flair on the blueprint provided by their kid guest. And the best part, audiences get to see two unique outcomes, referencing from the elaborate to obscure drawings. In the end, we get edible artworks planned out and built by a team of kids and professionals.
The friendly competition and lovely chemistry between pairs keep me anticipating each episode. And as the competitors aim to delight their kid guests, I always love to see how I Draw, You Cook also brings out the kid in all of the chefs. Such a delightful treat to watch. The show also gives you fresh and unique ideas for preparing meals!
Now in its fourth season, new faces enter the roster of the competition. We will see first-timers in the show, TikTok content creators, Owen Han and H Woo Lee, and Tway Nguyen. Season 4 returned with three 20-minute episodes, along with our resident chefs, Rie McClenny, Alix Traeger, and Katie Aubin.
Episode 1 – Rie McClenny and Alix Traeger
In this season’s first episode, our favorite chefs blast off to space! And reunite for their fourth episode in the entire show. Watch resident Tasty chefs Rie McClenny and Alix Traeger compete to fulfill the dreams of Twins Audrey and Chloe.
Their blueprint is composed of a dream-like flower planet of strawberries and lavenders, starry pastries, a neighboring ice cream planet, and an outer space drink which the twin explains “makes you go a little crazy”.
Previously, the pair competed against each other multiple times. Out of all three episodes with them, Alix won the kids’ hearts twice. Who will commence as the champ of this out-of-this-world episode this time?
Episode 2 – Katie Aubin and Tway Nguyen
Five-year-old Everly draws her dream Dinosaurs dish in the second episode of I Draw, You Cook. Tway Nguyen, the new host for Tasty’s Making It Big, competes with Katie Aubin to recreate the prehistoric sketch with a tree, rainbow, chewy rocks, and magic river as its elements.
Episode 3 – Owen Han and H Woo Lee
Gotta catch ’em draw and cook! In this episode, 9-year-old Maxley illustrates his dream Pokémon dish. With his sketch complete with yellow berries, a cake gifted by Arceus, a star-shaped side dish, and an ocean mist to quench. Owen Han and H Woo Lee take on the challenge of summoning this 2D illustration into a real satisfying meal for the Pokémon.
The episodes premiered on Tasty’s official YouTube channel on three Sundays, starting November 13 – 27, 2022.
