Maymay Entrata champions self-empowerment in her fiery single ‘AMAKABOGERA’
Kapamilya star Maymay Entrata continue to outdone herself with her latest single “AMAKABOGERA” under Star Pop. It’s an upbeat and catchy Pinoy pop song that encourages its listeners to embrace their uniqueness and not conform to society’s standards.
As you play the song, you will be initially stunned by her belting notes, which is a new take from her past tracks. This is the point in time where she decided to grab it as an opportunity to build up her confidence in singing.
Defying the standards with her vocals
Unsurprisingly, Maymay proves her talent as she flaunts her strong vocals in a live performance on Wish 107.5 — showcasing her range as a singer.
Compared to her past songs, this is a new genre from her that will make you bop your heads to the beat. The rhythm commands choreography that will surely move you to the groove which Maymay nailed as well. Solidifying herself as an all-around performer.

As described by singer-songwriter Jed Madela, the song reminds the sounds of Latin America and Europe. He explains that it’s tough to pinpoint how Filipino music sounds as it becomes “a melting pot of different cultures.”
However, the song’s title itself exemplifies the trademark of P-pop due to the use of a Filipino slang term. AMAKABOGERA can be translated to as “I’m a Kabogera” which means “I’m a stunner”. Moreover, it truly represents the pride of Pinoy music for its stirring artistry.

“AMAKABOGERA” is the singer’s latest single following her previous song ‘Di Kawalan which is also a self-assuring song but has a subtle vibe. Currently, it accumulated 1.5 million views on Youtube and reached 200,000 streams on Spotify last September.

The track’s music video opens with Maymay sporting a just-woke-up look that livens to her lyrics. In order to gain confidence, you need to be comfortable with your own skin first.
With the unique designs of the wardrobe and exquisite makeup looks, the 24-year-old star didn’t forget to channel her inner fashionista along with impeccable gestures and expressions.
In an episode of Kapamilya Chat, Maymay gave props to the production team. She revealed that they finished shooting in just less than a day. Directed by Amiel Kirby Balagtas and produced by YouMeUs MNL, the MV garnered over 2.8 million views on Youtube since its premiere on October 22.
