Mark Anthony Rosales’ Innovation Room Reopens with Masterclasses that Elevate Filipino Artistry

Fueled by the belief that learning is a never-ending journey, Mark Anthony Rosales, founder of MARK’ED SALON, created The Innovation Room. It’s a creative hub built for hairstylists, artists, and brands—a space where collaboration and growth thrive.

Staying true to its founding purpose, The Innovation Room is set to open its doors once again for its first-ever Innovators Masterclass—a series of workshops featuring top innovators in hair, makeup, and fashion.

The masterclasses, happening on October 24–25, will be headlined by hairstylist Carla Quiogue and makeup artists Dexter Lopez and Elo Zarsuela. The two-day event is supported by Urban Care and partner brand FlorMar. The event aims to foster collaboration across the beauty community while celebrating artistry and mentorship in their truest form.

From Chalk to Comb: The Redirection of Mark Anthony Rosales

Before becoming a salon owner, Mark originally set his sights on a career in teaching. Inspired by his uncle, Tito Lito—a mathematics teacher and proud cum laude graduate—he began studying for a Bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in Science.

He had hoped to carry on the family’s tradition of academic excellence, as every generation before him had produced a laude graduate. However, life took him on a different path. He eventually shifted his focus, completing a degree in BS Marketing instead.

But while he once prepared to teach in a classroom, life would soon lead him to a different kind of teaching. It’s a path leading him to where beauty, creativity, and purpose meet.

Fulfilling a Promise: Empowering the Next Generation of Beauty Professionals

Mark’s journey in the beauty industry was far from easy. Finding a mentor willing to take him under their wing proved difficult. Until Mike Manalad, owner of Uncommon Barbershop, stepped in to guide Mark through the basics of hairstyling.

From that moment on, Mark made a promise. When the time came and he was in the position to do so, he would share his knowledge and teach anyone eager to learn. Years later, a budding hairstylist named Justin Ocampo approached Mark to ask if he could mentor him. Without hesitation, Mark agreed.

The Birth and Bloom of the Innovation Room

Mentorship holds a special place in Mark’s heart. His passion for teaching remained at the core of who he was. The days Mark spent mentoring Justin reignited his long-held dream of becoming a teacher. This prompted him to create The Innovation Room.

Human Nature was the first Filipino brand to believe in the space, aligning perfectly with Mark’s scalp care advocacy. Soon after, Sparkle GMA held an exclusive workshop there, followed by Shark Ninja’s launch of its latest holistic hair tool. Even rising talents, like Elo—one of Albert Kurniawan’s protégés—have chosen the space for their first masterclasses.

The Innovation Room is truly not just a typical room—it’s a vibrant reflection of an enduring commitment to teach, share, and nurture Filipino talent.

As the space welcomes creatives once again on October 24–25, be part of another artistic experience that celebrates collaboration, and the continuous evolution of Filipino artistry.
