One of the country’s most prestigious universities just announced that that it will not hold its college entrance examination for the academic year 2021-2022. The University of Santo Tomas (UST) will base its college admission on the applicants’ academic performance and record.
Last week, the university made its official announcement on their website, the UST Entrance Test (USTET) would be cancelled “in consideration of the quarantine restrictions that are currently in effect in the country.”
The school would implement in its place the UST Admission Rating or USTAR. It is a score that will be “computed from a number of parameters derived largely from the academic performance and record of the applicant.”
No further details were given, but UST assured the public that it would share the full guidelines soon.
The said news garnered mixed reactions from netizens, expressing both outrage and confusion.

Sa mga nagsasabi na ustar is the safest alternative for ustet, then you haven’t screened all avenues. Students who have been a victim of professors politicizing grades are on a verge of academic suicide

WALANG USTET AND I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO FEEL
Meanwhile, most of the schools have shifted to online learning due to the coronavirus pandemic.
