‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ Pilot Week
After the 7 year long FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Coco Martin stars and directs another remake of FPJ’s movie. The FPJ’s Batang Quiapo airs last February 13 and gained positive reactions on its first day. This is inspired by the original story of Regal Films and airs on a weeknight at 8 PM on Kapamilya Channel.
The first five episodes of the TV series made the online world abuzz because of its tear-jerking and action-packed scenes. Just on the first night, a breathtaking action scene glued the eyes of the viewers on their television or phones. It shows the backstories of the main characters, starring veteran actors.
Trending pilot episode
The first episode shows the complicated history of the main character, Tanggol. One of the trending scenes is when the police chased Ramon (played by Coco Martin) because of the bank robbery that caused a commotion in Quiapo, Ramon entered the house of Marites (Miles Ocampo.) Due to desperation he then mercilessly raped Marites to continue his bloodline. The viewers applauded Miles on her acting scene.
Miles got a lot of praises, when the scene where she tries to abort her baby to mend her relationship with Rigor (Ejay Falcon) airs. The tear-jerking confrontation of Marites and Tindeng (Lara Quigaman) gives goosebumps to the viewers.
But the online world turns abuzz when Marites gave birth in the market and tried to leave it there. Hearing the baby cry changed her heart, then when she turns around, she saw Olga (Ryza Cenon) trying to take the baby Tanggol. This is where the famous line “Anak ko yan” takes place because Marites shouts and get the attention of Olga and other people there.
Viewers feedback
The netizens gushed over how great the cinematography, sounds, and color grading of the five pilot episodes of the TV series. The actors featured on the first part of the story were also lauded by viewers, especially Miles Ocampo, and Lara Quigaman, who really stole the spotlight.
The pilot episodes are only a glimpse of what to come and how excited viewers for the next episodes.
