Star Magic star Daniel Padilla shared that working with his former boss Charo Santos-Concio was an intimidating experience. This is on the set of the critically acclaimed film, Kun Maupay Man it Panahon.

Kun Maupay Man it Panahon or Whether the Weather is Fine is directed by Carlo Francisco Manatad.

Besides Daniel Padilla, it also stars Charo Santos-Concio and Rans Rifol. The story revolves around a mother and son reeling from the aftermath of super typhoon Yolanda. It won a special award at the Swiss movie festival in Locarno last August.

Daniel confessed some in an exclusive interview with Star Magic Inside News last Tuesday, Dec. 21. The star shared how Charo was not going out of her way to scare him. However, as they worked on the film, her mere presence was daunting.

“Syempre yung presence ni Ma’am — nasanay akong boss ko ‘yon si Ma’am Charo eh. Sa Star Magic Ball ko nakikita, pag may kailangan, aakyat ako sa kanya, alam mo ‘yon?”

The actor then reiterated that while this was the case, Charo was actually nice to work with. But of course, Daniel still wanted to do his best in doing his craft while working with the veteran actress.

“Yung makasama siya sa isang film is intimidating, pero at the same time, very welcoming is ma’am Charo. Tatanggalin niya ‘yon sayo, para makapagtrabaho rin kayo nang maigi. At saka nakakatakot magkamali. Ayaw mo magkamali.”

Kun Maupay Man it Panahon is a film shot in Waray. Because of that, Daniel admitted that he would make mistakes while working. However, despite these, he said that Charo remained encouraging.

“May one time ako pa nagkamali-mali sa Waray ko, buti na lang si ma’am Charo — ‘it’s okay’ — so alam mo ‘yon, di naman nagagalit si ma’am Charo. Very supportive, napakasarap kasama ni ma’am Charo.”

The film is an official entry to the 2021 Metro Manila Film Fest. It was released in theaters on Christmas Day—December 25, 2021.
