ASEAN Panoramic Vision Captivates at Epson International Pano Awards

Epson today congratulates the winners of the 16th Epson International Pano Awards, the world’s largest competition for panoramic photography. Epson also celebrates strong participation from Southeast Asia.

The Epson International Pano Awards continues to be the largest global competition for panoramic photography, showcasing the work of panoramic photographers worldwide. The region continued to be strongly represented following the addition of Epson Southeast Asia as joint major sponsor in 2024. The winner of The Pano Awards Southeast Asia Open Photographer of the Year 2025 Award is Singapore’s William Chua. His winning image, Wildebeest, stood out for its creative panoramic format that showcases the movement and drama of the moment.

“I have witnessed the wildebeest migration countless times, and it never ceases to amaze me,” said Chua. “For this image, what caught my attention was a lone wildebeest turning back amidst the frenzy. In that instant, I knew that was the shot I wanted.”

“This is the second year that Epson Southeast Asia has sponsored The Epson International Pano Awards, and we’re delighted to see strong participation from Southeast Asian photographers,” said Siew Jin Kiat, Regional Managing Director, Epson Southeast Asia. “This reflects the creativity and growing influence of our region’s visual storytellers, and Epson Southeast Asia is proud to support the thriving community of creatives by championing the power of print as a visual medium that preserves panoramic photography in its most dynamic form.”

As joint major sponsors, Epson Southeast Asia and Epson Australia contributed prizes including the Epson SureColor P5360, P5330 and P906 photo printers, as well as an Epson EB-1795F ultra-slim projector: professional tools built to bring creative visions to life with exceptional colour accuracy and print longevity.

This year’s competition saw remarkable creativity emerging from Southeast Asia, with photographers capturing the region’s diverse beauty and beyond through powerful, panoramic storytelling. Entries from Vietnam were particularly noteworthy, securing 6 out of 10 finalist spots in the Southeast Asia Open Photographer of the Year 2025 category.

Regional talent also ventured further afield to capture the world’s most extraordinary terrains. Thailand’s Athimeth Lerdkkitveruj, for instance, brought viewers to the sweeping sand dunes of Namibia, using scale, light, and striking composition to transform a remote desert scene into a cinematic visual experience.

Together, these finalists demonstrate the creative ambition and technical mastery emerging from Southeast Asia, a region that continues to elevate panoramic photography on the global stage.
