6th VP Choice Awards: Nominees to be Revealed on January 29
The much-anticipated 6th VP Choice Awards is set to reveal its official list of nominees on January 29, 2025. These nominees represent the Pipol’s top choices across Tech, Lifestyle, Travel, Business, and Entertainment throughout 2024. The announcement will be made on the official social media pages of the VP Choice Awards and Village Pipol.
The VP Choice Awards, held annually in the Philippines, celebrates the Pipol’s favorites. Winners are determined through online votes combined with scores from the Panel of Experts and the Village Pipol Editorial Team.
Enhanced Nomination Process
For this year, Village Pipol and Red Entertainment, Inc. have elevated the nomination process. In addition to public online nominations, the management sought exclusive nominations from the country’s leading agencies in various sectors. This ensures a more refined and comprehensive selection process.
Auto-Nomination via Pi-PoLL
The 6th VPCA introduced Pi-PoLL to capture the Pipol’s sentiments through polls conducted on the VPCA website. In December 2024, the Pi-PoLL Power Pick allowed the Pipol to vote for their favorites, securing official nomination spots in selected categories. Garnering over three million votes, the following earned automatic nominations:
- JMFYANG – Love Team of the Year
- Josh Cullen Santos (Silent Cries) – Composer of the Year
- Josh Cullen – Solo Performer of the Year
- JM Ibarra – Promising Male Star of the Year
- Sofia Fyang Smith – Promising Female Star of the Year
- KAIA – P-Pop Group of the Year
- Kalakal by SB19 feat. Gloc-9 – P-Pop Song of the Year
- Hori7on – K-Pop Act of the Year
- Sofia Fyang Smith – Breakthrough Social Media Star of the Year
Honoring the Hall of Famers
This year, the VPCA Hall of Fame celebrates individuals and groups who have achieved three consecutive wins in their respective categories. The 2024 Hall of Famers include:
- Pablo – Composer of the Year
- DonBelle – Love Team of the Year
- Bubblies (DonBelle) – Fandom of the Year
The VPCA Hall of Fame honors individuals, groups, and brands that have remained relevant and impactful for three consecutive years. This recognition reflects their genuine following and steadfast support from the Pipol. Starting with the 6th VPCA, management has lifted the one-year nomination pause for Hall of Fame inductees. This change allows them to compete again and achieve multiple Hall of Fame accolades, further solidifying their legacy.
