If smudges on the back of the phone bother you, then you should definitely go with the iPhone 13 Pro model. The base model, iPhone 13, has a glossy back for a fingerprint magnet. Meanwhile, the iPhone 13 Pro model has a frosted glass back, giving you a nicer feeling on the hands.

Although the iPhone 13 Pro remains more slippery to hold. It is also more prone to dropping if held without a case compared to the iPhone 13. However, these factors wouldn’t really matter should you decide to use either of them with a case.

Both of the phones remain the same in dimensions, except for their weight. The base model weighs only 173 grams, perfect if you want a lighter phone. Meanwhile, the iPhone 13 Pro version weighs 203 grams if you want a heavier device in your hand.

Battery Life

Aside from these phones’ weights, their battery capacity differs as well. The lighter phone only should be able to give you 19 hours of video playback. Meanwhile, the heavier device can also give you up to 22 hours of playback. These are solely based on what Apple claims on their website prior to the lineup’s announcement and release.

The difference in terms of video playback remains 16%. When streaming video, Apple lists the battery life at fifteen to twenty hours, respectively. The iPhone 13 Pro model, on the other hand, surely lasts 33% longer. If you want to opt for a longer-lasting device, then the iPhone 13 Pro it is!

Display

Moving on to the display, both phones have a 6.1″ Super Retina XDR Display. However, the iPhone 13 only refreshes at 60Hertz. Meanwhile, the iPhone 13’s display comes with ProMotion, enabling the phone to refresh at 120Hertz.

The iPhone 13 Pro model refreshes adaptively. It can also go from as low as 10Hertz up to 120Hertz. Apple claimed that this allows the phone to save battery. Meanwhile, it gives you a premium experience on the screen.

So, if the 120Hertz refresh rate is a big deal for you, then go with the iPhone 13 Pro. However, if 60Hertz doesn’t bother you at all, then you’ll be fine with the iPhone 13 base model.

Additional Camera Lens

These two phones, in comparison, have the same Wide and Ultra-Wide Lenses. Both support Cinematic mode in 1080p at 30fps. These two also have a Dolby Vision HDR video recording up to 4K at 60 fps.
