With Apple’s latest iPhones, choosing one between the four models can be quite hard. However, as time passes by, we ought to land on a decision. If you don’t know whether or not should you buy the base model or just go Pro.
Helping you make a decision between iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro
If smudges on the back of the phone bother you, then you should definitely go with the iPhone 13 Pro model. The base model, iPhone 13, has a glossy back for a fingerprint magnet. Meanwhile, the iPhone 13 Pro model has a frosted glass back, giving you a nicer feeling on the hands.
Although the iPhone 13 Pro remains more slippery to hold. It is also more prone to dropping if held without a case compared to the iPhone 13. However, these factors wouldn’t really matter should you decide to use either of them with a case.
Both of the phones remain the same in dimensions, except for their weight. The base model weighs only 173 grams, perfect if you want a lighter phone. Meanwhile, the iPhone 13 Pro version weighs 203 grams if you want a heavier device in your hand.
Aside from these phones’ weights, their battery capacity differs as well. The lighter phone only should be able to give you 19 hours of video playback. Meanwhile, the heavier device can also give you up to 22 hours of playback. These are solely based on what Apple claims on their website prior to the lineup’s announcement and release.
The difference in terms of video playback remains 16%. When streaming video, Apple lists the battery life at fifteen to twenty hours, respectively. The iPhone 13 Pro model, on the other hand, surely lasts 33% longer. If you want to opt for a longer-lasting device, then the iPhone 13 Pro it is!
Moving on to the display, both phones have a 6.1″ Super Retina XDR Display. However, the iPhone 13 only refreshes at 60Hertz. Meanwhile, the iPhone 13’s display comes with ProMotion, enabling the phone to refresh at 120Hertz.
The iPhone 13 Pro model refreshes adaptively. It can also go from as low as 10Hertz up to 120Hertz. Apple claimed that this allows the phone to save battery. Meanwhile, it gives you a premium experience on the screen.
So, if the 120Hertz refresh rate is a big deal for you, then go with the iPhone 13 Pro. However, if 60Hertz doesn’t bother you at all, then you’ll be fine with the iPhone 13 base model.
Additional Camera Lens
These two phones, in comparison, have the same Wide and Ultra-Wide Lenses. Both support Cinematic mode in 1080p at 30fps. These two also have a Dolby Vision HDR video recording up to 4K at 60 fps.
But, the iPhone 13 Pro has an advantage as it also has a Telephoto Lens which the iPhone 13 has none. More to that, the Pro versions have LiDAR Scanner. This shall allow users to use night mode portraits, faster autofocus in low light, and next-level AR experiences.
The iPhone 13 model comes in six colors: (Product)Red, Starlight, Midnight, Blue, Pink, and Green.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 13 Pro comes in five colors: Sierra Blue, Graphite, Gold, Silver, and Alpine Green.
The iPhone 13 starts at Php 50,990. While the iPhone 13 Pro starts at Php 63,990. Is the Php 13-thousand difference, along with the features in comparison all worth it? Have you come up with a decision? Have you decided to go pro or not? Let us know!
