Thai singer Phum Viphurit replaces Korean artist George at 2020 Wanderland Festival

Unfortunately, South Korean R&B singer George will no longer be part of this year’s Wanderland Festival’s lineup due to travel restrictions caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19).  However, Thai singer-songwriter Phum Viphurit, known for his hit “Lover Boy” will replace George at the music and arts festival.

Wanderland made the announcement on Saturday on its Facebook account – the same day South Korea warned of a “critical moment” in its fight against the virus.

Due to unforeseen travel restrictions, George will no longer be able to fly to Manila and perform at Wanderland Music & Arts Festival,” the caption reads.

In fact, the South Korean artist also posted the news on his IG account with a message for festival-goers to be safe.  “I will make it up to you soon. Thank you for your understanding,” he wrote.

International artists including Bruno MajorNovo Amor, and Sabrina Claudio also canceled their appearances at the Wanderland Music & Arts Festival following the current situation of COVID-19.

Organizers said applications for refunds due to the sudden changes in the lineup and concerns over the coronavirus will be honored. However, the event will still push through on March 7 and 8 at the Filinvest City Events Grounds in Alabang.

Tickets are still available at priced at 5,500 PHP, 7,000 PHP, and 12,000 PHP. You may buy tickets at the website of Wanderland Festival.

Phum returns to Manila for Wanderland Festival

Meanwhile, Phum is making his Wanderland Festival debut on the second day of the event.

Phum rose to international fame in 2018 when he released his single “Lover Boy”. In fact, he previously performed in Manila last May 2019 for the Summer Noise concert. Phum was also part of the All of the Noise line up in Manila which held in 2018.

The Thai singer will perform on day 2 of the festival alongside Joji, NIKI, No Rome, IV of Spades, and Barby Almabis among others.
