You can take PITX bus trips to Naga City and Matnog in the Bicol region!

Naga’s charm as a pilgrimage city and its interesting tourist destinations make it popular among travelers. It never fails to awe its visitors with its old colonial churches, Mt. Isarog Natural Park, and others. Now, you can easily go there by commute as PITX announced direct bus trips are now available!

You can take PITX bus trips to Naga City and Matnog in the Bicol region!

If you’re planning to explore Naga City in Camarines Sur and Matnog in Sorsogon, you can now travel there straight by bus. Starting last June 30, PITX offered trips to Naga every other day by 6 PM. The bus company also scheduled return trips from Naga at 6 PM. The full fare for a one-way trip is PHP 757 while the discounted fee is PHP 605.

For those who want to ride a PITX bus going to Matnog, there’s a 2:30 PM trip every other day. The same rule applies in terms of return journeys but the departure from Matnog is 1:30 PM. You’ll have to pay PHP 1,176 as regular bus fare while the discounted rate is priced at PHP 941.

List of requirements from PITX

You can also go to Legazpi, Tabaco, and Tiwi by taking PITX buses. However, you must present the following requirements:

  1. Company ID, an authorized person outside of residence (APOR) ID, or any government-issued ID
  2.  Advanced booking of at least 48 hours, made via DLTB in PITX, other DLTB offices. You can also book a schedule by calling (0933) 824-7135.
  3. Negative antigen test result from the PITX Testing Facility on the exact date of travel. The facility is located on the third-floor parking area of PITX and requires no reservation of slots. A single test costs PHP 850. A parent or a guardian must accompany minors during travel. If there’s no guardian, the minor must present a travel permit from DSWD.

Note that PITX released this list of requirements on July 2, 2021.

Apart from Bicol trips, new routes to Quezon are planned for the month of July. As of now, trips to the following destinations in Quezon are available: Calauag, Guinayangan, San Francisco, Infanta, Lucban, Mauban, Sampaloc, San Andres, Tagkawayan.

According to PITX corporate affairs and government relations head Jason Salvador, they have been talking with LGUs to open new routes. He explained further,

“We’ve been coordinating with LGUs for the opening of new routes to different Southern Luzon provinces such as Bicol, Quezon, Batangas, and Laguna. This is our way of helping revive our economy, while still having safety as our top priority. Hopefully, we sustain this momentum in reopening more and opening new routes so we can all move forward even amidst the pandemic.”
