Brigiding Shines Brighter, Wins DRPH: Slaysian Royale
Brigiding, a star-studded queen, wins the grand finale of Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale, and becomes the first-ever Slaysian Superstar!
Joining her in the final lineup were fellow Filipina queens Arizona Brandy and Viñas Deluxe, along with Suki Doll, the only international queen and newly crowned “Miss Congee-niality” of the season.
Back-to-Back Grand Finale Extravaganza
The Grand Finale Extravaganza showcased three runway categories: Defying Gravity, Yellow, Yellow, Yellow, and Come In Your Best Drag. Brigiding gracefully flaunted her vibrancy, outshining her co-finalists.
No one lights up the sky like a star. As the brightest one, Brigiding defied gravity in her first runway look — inspired by “divine intervention.”
Then comes the long yellow gown for her second look that portrayed the beauty of 1986 EDSA Revolution, presuming that drag is political. Poetically speaking, Brigiding didn’t just walk the runway, she marched.
Lastly, for her Best Drag look, Brigiding didn’t just glow like a star, she became the universe. While she believes that most people are made of stars, she remains to shine brighter than the rest.
Brigiding topped even if it’s just halfway through the episode. What more could we expect in the talent show, perhaps, in the Grand T.I.T.E.?
The Grand T.I.T.E.
The Grand T.I.T.E. (Totally Impressive Talent Extravaganza) is a talent showcase by the Top 4 Queens in every finale of Drag Race Philippines.
Arizona Brandy enticed everyone in her drag with her lasengga brand. She performed Arizona B., and as expected, it was camp. Next, Brigiding starred in her song Brighter’s Day, which attests that learning is the new winning, and that winning is her brand.
Suki Doll narrated herstory of becoming in her performance of A Mother’s Blessing. She beautifully executed her drag through the Cambodian traditional art “Lakhon Khol,” wherein she showcased her undying love for drag and for her mother—the first person to love her in drag, and her culture.
Viñas Deluxe gagged everyone in her talent showcase of Misis It. She posited the natural aura of a performing artist and blazed in every corner of the stage.
The Top 4 queens of this season proved their spots with campy looks and stunts. While all stunned the judges in their best looks and performances, Brigiding and Viñas Deluxe were hailed as the Top 2 queens of the season, and are set to lip-sync for the crown.
The Lip-Sync for The Crown
Finally, the most-awaited lip-sync battle for the crown has come. The drag sisters and best friends for over a decade, Viñas Deluxe and Brigiding as the Top 2 queens, performed “Born to do Drag” by Marina Summers.
However, both may have proven themselves worthy of the crown, one has to stand out. Mama Pao hailed Brigiding the first-ever Slaysian Royale Superstar!
Brigiding, as the brightest queen in the universe, rewrites her own destiny. Best believe it was written in the stars all along, and so it shall be done. Brigiding made her final walk, holding the pride of the Drag Race Philippines’ first-ever Slaysian Royale Superstar!
