6th VP Choice Awards Partners with LoveYourself Inc. as Beneficiary

Every year, the Village Pipol Choice Awards (VPCA) shines a spotlight on the favorites of the Pipol. This celebrates excellence in Business, Lifestyle, Travel, Technology, and Entertainment. But beyond the glitz and glamour, VPCA holds a deeper purpose: using its platform to create meaningful change.

More than just an award giving body, the 6th VP Choice Awards is a testament to the power of community. Through this, the Pipol uplift not just their favorite stars but also those who need to be heard the most. This year, VPCA is taking that mission even further. They are partnering with LoveYourself Inc. — organization dedicated to HIV awareness, mental health support, and self-worth empowerment.

In this collaboration, a portion of the proceeds from votes cast via stars on Facebook Reels will go directly to LoveYourself’s initiatives. But more than just financial support, this partnership is about spreading awareness, breaking stigma, and reminding every individual that they are worthy of love, respect, and care.

What LoveYourself Inc. Stands For

Founded in 2011 by Ronivin (Vinn) Garcia Pagtakhan, LoveYourself Inc. was born out of a simple yet profound mission: to provide a safe space for individuals to embrace self-worth and take charge of their health. What started as a grassroots initiative among friends has grown into a movement of over 1,100 volunteers, all working to provide free HIV testing, counseling, and mental health support to those in need.

At the heart of its advocacy, LoveYourself focuses on three key pillars:

  • Sexual Health – Providing free HIV testing, treatment, and counseling services.
  • Mental Health – Offering safe spaces, therapy, and support programs.
  • Trans Health – Advocating for the well-being of transgender individuals through healthcare and education.

According to Bet Domingo, Head of Communications and Community Development at LoveYourself, the organization is built on the belief that self-worth is a key determinant in a person’s health and life choices. “Many of our clients feel unloved, depressed, and deprived of love, but at the core of it all, they must first learn to love themselves. That’s why we are LoveYourself.”

Why This Partnership Matters

For the second year in a row, VP Choice Awards is choosing to give back to the community. In 2024, VPCA partnered with Dialysis PH to raise awareness about Chronic Kidney Disease. This year, they set their sights on breaking barriers around HIV and self-empowerment.

John Luke Chica, Editor-in-Chief of Village Pipol, Co-Founder of RED Entertainment, Inc., shared why LoveYourself Inc. was chosen as this year’s beneficiary.

“In our research, we discovered that in 2024, the HIV epidemic in the Philippines was the fastest-growing in the Western Pacific region, with an average of 55 new cases diagnosed daily. Most of these cases involve the younger generation. HIV remains a taboo topic in our country, and we want to help break that stigma.”

Beyond just a financial contribution, the partnership serves as a platform to amplify voices and foster open discussions.

“We are excited to share HIV-related stories that often go unnoticed or  are difficult to discuss,” Chica added. “At the end of the day, our goal is to bring these stories to light, inspire the Pipol. Most especially the youth and those who felt alone while dealing with HIV.”

VPCA’s Ongoing Commitment to Make a Difference

As Inyi Yruma, Project Director of VP Choice Awards reflects on this initiative, he sees a future where VPCA’s impact extends beyond trophies and titles.

“When we launched this campaign last year as part of VPCA, our main objective was to give back to the community—to the Pipol who continuously support VPCA.”

“We want the efforts of the Pipol—who passionately vote for their favorite stars and brands—to contribute to something bigger.”

Because in the end, true recognition means honoring success while also uplifting those who need it the most.

Through this partnership, the 6th VP Choice Awards and LoveYourself Inc. are not just changing lives—they’re changing the conversation. They are proving that advocacy and awareness are just as important as accolades. And that when the Pipol come together, they have the power to create real, lasting change.

Because everyone deserves to feel seen. Everyone deserves to feel valued. And most of all, everyone deserves to love—and be loved—without fear.
