Jimin of BTS announces upcoming solo album this March

ARMYs, a show of hands! Y’all are sure in for a treat as everyone’s favorite mochi BTS’ Jimin reveals his upcoming solo album’s March release.

On Friday, February 10, during a stream on the fan platform, Weverse, Jimin made the announcement. It was also re-uploaded by the fan account Jimin Global on Twitter, where he shared that he’s gearing up for the release of his solo album.

According to a translation from the Korean pop culture platform Soompi, Jimin said,

“I think the album I’ve been working on is going to drop in around March. I’m currently preparing lots of things that I can do together with you guys around that time.”

Jimin is the fourth member of BTS to release solo work following J-Hope, Jin, and RM.

“I’m planning lots of different kinds of things we can do to have fun together and enjoy ourselves, so I think you can safely look forward to it… You’ve been waiting for such a long time that I wanted to quickly announce this news first before starting [the broadcast],” he added.

A representative from Jimin’s agency Big Hit Music said the K-pop artist will “perform about two songs” in music shows following his upcoming solo debut. This came from a follow-up report from the Korean media outlet Star News.

Reports of the BTS member’s solo release emerged as early as January 2023. Meanwhile, details about his debut’s concept, exact release date, and songs are yet to be revealed, as of this writing.

Before his debut, he recorded the single With You with Korean soloist Ha Sung-woon in April 2022. It was released as part of the K-drama Our Blues soundtrack. He also participated in a collaborative track Bad Decisions, alongside bandmates Jin, V, and Jungkook, with American rapper Snoop Dogg and U.S.-based record producer Benny Blanco in August of the same year.

Earlier this year, Jimin was featured in the R&B single Vibe with BigBang’s Taeyang — which he considered as one of his favorite artists even before debuting as a member of BTS.
