5 Must-Watch Dramas of ‘Cafe Minamdang’ Actor Seo In-guk

Cafe Minamdang starring Seo In-guk is one of the latest drama released on Netflix. It was based on a well-known web novel of the same title written by author Jung Jae-ha. On the KakaoPage platform, the novel has reached 1 million views and won a grand prize.

Alongside Seo In-guk is the actress Oh Yeon-seo who played the lead in the drama. It tells the story of Nam Han-joon (Seo In-guk), a former criminal profiler who turned into a fraudster. Han-joon disguises himself as a shaman to defraud people out of money. However, we cannot categorize him as a typical scammer that we would despise since he helps his clients with their cases and offers excellent customer services. Long story short, Han-joon got involved in a serious issue and met Han Jae-ha (Oh Yeon-seo), an upright detective with whom he will eventually develop a slight feeling.

The Plot: The drama Reply 1997 focuses on Sung Shi-won (Jung Eun-ji), a die-hard fan of a boyband H.O.T and her high school friends from Busan. The scenario changes from their reunion in 2012, where they reunite and relive their fun high school recollections. Seo In-guk played the character of Yoon Yoon-jea, Shi-won’s childhood best friend, and is an outstanding student who consistently earned first-place grades.

2. Hello Monster (2015)

The Plot: Seo In-guk played the character of Lee Hyun, a genius criminal profiler. He returns to Korea after receiving a case that triggered his forgotten memories. Lee Joon Young (D.O from Exo), a serial killer, was responsible for the death of Lee Hyun’s father and the disappearance of his younger brother. To find out who the killer is, Lee Hyun tries to recollect lost memories of the murder from his past. Thus, the title ‘Hello Monster’ also known as ‘I remember you‘.

3. Shopaholic Louis (2016)

The Plot: Seo In-guk plays Louis, a young and attractive heir to his wealthy grandmother who enjoys shopping. Louis was sent to France in order to escape the bad luck brought on by his grandmother’s strong energy, but he had to return to Korea because of her condition. After getting into a serious car accident and losing his memories, Louis met Ko Bok-shil (Nam Ji-hyun), an innocent and lively woman from the countryside who is looking for her missing brother. 

4. The Smile has left your eyes (2018)

The Plot: “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” stars Seo In-guk, Jung So-min, and Park Sung-woong. It is an adaptation of the Japanese television series Sora Kara Furu Inchioku no Hoshi from the year 2002. The protagonist of the story is the mysterious Kim Moo-young (Seo In-guk), who is unable to recall his past experiences. Later, Moo-young met Yoo Jin-kang (Jung So-min), an advertisement designer who lost her parents when she was young. Their lives got more complicated when Moo-young regained his memories and discovered his Father’s passing among other things.

Aside from this drama, Seo In-guk and Jung So-min had their cameo as a grim reaper in a Korean Drama series ‘Abyss’ which starred Park Bo-young and Ahn Hyeo-seop. They are currently hard in preparation for the upcoming local and international release of their new film, “Project Wolf Hunting.”

5. Doom at your service (2021)

The Plot: Tak Dong-kyung, a character played by Park Bo-young, is an editor for a web novel company. Finding out that she is dying from Gliobastoma and has only three months to live is not just the thing that has made her feel horrible. Although it does add a huge weight to her reasons for wishing for the world to be doomed. After learning about her wish, Myul-mang (Seo In-guk) then showed up at her house. His name literally translates to “Doom,” as his purpose is to wreak havoc and misfortune to mankind. Myul-mang, who has grown tired of his purpose, decides to end the world and bring doom upon himself through the help of Tak Dong-kyung, who has also wished for the same thing.

We are constantly in awe of actor Seo In-guk’s extraordinary talent. No wonder why a lot of Filipino women have a major love on him and let him ride on their hearts. If Cafe Minamdang is the only drama with him that you have ever seen, stop wasting your time and look for his drama list instead. He has other dramas and films that you have to watch as well.
