Taylor Swift, an American singer-songwriter, won the Video of the Year award at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards today, August 29 (August 28, EST).

This was a difficult category but Swift emerged victorious with the win for “All Too Well: The Short Film”.

“I’m so honored to have been recognized alongside such amazing artists and directors in this category.”

Record Breaking

Swift now holds the record for the most VMAs Video of the Year with three wins, as this was her third time taking home the trophy. She previously won the award for her songs “Bad Blood” in 2015 and “You Need to Calm Down” in 2019.

“I know with every second of this moment that we wouldn’t have been able to make this short film if it weren’t for you, the fans. Because I wouldn’t be able to re-record my albums if it weren’t for you. You embolden me to do that.”

Before Swift’s record-breaking triumph, four artists—who each received two awards—tied for the record for the most Video of the Year victories. They are Swift, Beyoncé (Single Ladies and Formation), Rihanna (Umbrella and We Found Love), and Eminem (The Real Slim Shady and Without Me).
