VP/Spotlight | Prince De Guzman is Becoming the Superbod He Once Needed to See
Under the bright lights of the Century Tuna Superbods stage, Prince De Guzman is stepping into a new kind of spotlight. At 30, the professional cosplayer and content creator is now one of Top 20 finalists in a competition that, for him, goes far beyond physique. It is a chance to challenge old perceptions, embrace his own growth, and show others that transformation is possible.

What started as a personal fitness journey eventually became something bigger for Prince. He realized that joining the Century Tuna Superbods was not only about himself, but also about the community that has followed his story.
More Than a Superbod
Prince was already living a lifestyle built around proper diet and exercise before entering the competition. But preparing for the Superbods meant raising the intensity rather than completely changing his routine.
“I just have to up my game. I just have to exert twice the effort in my workout,” he says.
But while the physical demands came naturally to him, Prince considers the emotional side of the competition his biggest challenge. His goal is to use the platform to reach more people with his advocacy for self-care and mental health.

“My advocacy is about normalizing self-care and mental health. So with fitness, I think that’s the first step for them to better themselves,” Prince explains.
His own journey is proof of that belief. Prince recalls arriving at his audition filled with doubts. He even questioned whether he should continue after getting sick on the morning of the audition. Instead of taking it as a sign to stop, he chose to push through. He described it as the gym not caring about how you feel, what matters is consistently showing up and continuing to move, even on days when you’re not doing well.
That mindset carried him from being one of hundreds of hopefuls to becoming one of the final 20. For Prince, the achievement has also reshaped how he sees himself.
For him, being a Superbod is ultimately about becoming someone others can look up to—not out of comparison, but inspiration.
“I am not just a vessel, a body, but I am here because of my story, of the discipline and the hard work that I’ve been through and when you look at them, they will feel that they can also do this.” Prince says.
Owning His Story
Confidence was not always something Prince carried easily. His years as a cosplayer and artist have placed him in spaces where he experienced judgment for doing makeup, costumes, and art instead of following more traditional expectations.
Now entering mainstream media brought some of those old fears back. He admits that before Superbods, he was afraid of being judged again. But the competition has allowed him to see how much has changed not only around him but also within himself.
“I think before in 2016, I was ahead of my time when I joined the pageants and when I shared my art. I think this time, the people now understand,” Prince says.

His experience in cosplay has also given him the confidence to connect with audiences. Having spent years entertaining and inspiring people through his art, Prince says he draws energy from the people around him. That same connection now fuels his Superbods journey.
Rather than seeing the other finalists solely as competition, Prince chooses to focus on his own growth. It’s him versus him.
For Prince, the competition brings the opportunity to become better rather than simply prove that he is better than someone else. Whether he takes home the title or not, he believes the experience has already given him lessons he can carry forward.
A Story Worth Carrying Forward
At the heart of Prince’s Superbods journey is a desire to represent more than himself. He wants people to remember his story and the community that helped shape it.
Prince hopes to challenge the idea that people have to fit into one category. His community, he says, is filled with talented individuals contributing to different industries from fitness and art to business, gaming, and even cosplay.
“I just want them to remember how our community is actually a huge part of every industry,” Prince shares.

More importantly, he wants his journey to remind people that where they start does not have to determine where they end up. He describes himself as someone who once felt like he had little—few resources, limited knowledge, and plenty of doubts—but continued to pursue his craft.
“I’m from nowhere. I don’t have the gadgets, I don’t have the means, I don’t have the knowledge. But I’m here now as one of the top 20 finalists of Century Tuna Superbods,” Prince says.
That statement captures the heart of his journey. The Superbods stage is not just about physical strength, it brings Prince with something deeper: years of persistence, creativity, and self-discovery.
As the competition moves forward, the crown may be the ultimate prize, but it is not the only measure of success. For Prince De Guzman, the real victory is becoming someone who can stand in the spotlight and make someone else believe they belong there, too.
Because sometimes, the most powerful transformation is not the one you see in the mirror. It is the moment you realize that the person you have been working to become is already standing in front of you.
