Witness Guilly Valenzuela as he ascends towards the pinnacle of his career
Along with their exuding talents and skills, the beauty creatives industry has long been known for individuals who pour out their hearts on their craft.
Needless to say, our local beauty scene is no stranger to brilliant and dedicated artists. Embarking on his journey, Filipino celebrity makeup artist Guillano Valenzuela marks his way to the ever-growing beauty industry.
Establishing his name
Widely known as Guilly in the industry, he started his professional career in 2009 and delve into screens through the national reality TV show Mega Fashion Crew in 2011. In lieu of his undeniable love for makeup, he partook as a hairstylist but then helmed his way back to his craft in 2017.
Over the years, he casts his magic on multiple covers for different magazines. Most of them include Village Pipol, MEGA, STAIL, and Stylish.
Bound to take his own crown, he’s a go-to MUA of pageant queens, especially of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 1st Runner Up Bella Ysmael.
Beyond that, his artistry was also behind some of the camera-ready looks of well-known celebrities Jasmin Curtis-Smith, Ruru Madrid, Kevin Balot, and the list just go on and on.
His eye-catching craftmanship
Proving passion and profession into one, his aesthetic makeup styles that gravitate from soft glam to editorial makeup deep-rooted from his feelings and emotions.
Driven by his fervent passion, Guilly shared that he always brings the best out of him and comes prepared, whether working for a shoot or a client. But when asked about the most challenging look to do for him, he said it would be high fashion editorial makeup.
“You need to find the fine line or balance between edgy and beautiful, unique but still timeless masterpieces.”
Greatly known for his out-of-the-box eye makeup styles, Guilly shared why he tends to focus on their eyes — whether it’s a no-makeup look, a strong cat-eye, or a smokey eye.
“I always believe that our eyes are the most expressive part of our face and it can totally change your mood depending on how it looks.”
Moreover, with over a decade of experience in his sleeves, the well-rounded professional is now a sought-after resource person to set trends and tips for magazines and television.
Venturing into business
To step up his game and to make his dream into reality, Guilly finally launched his own cosmetic line, Signature Tools by Guillano last year. After going to great lengths for two years, he and his team introduced their first collection — a fifteen-piece brush set dedicated to his fellow creatives.
“We carefully curated this brush set for both professionals and beginners…we put out hearts and created this brush line for two years.”
What’s next for Guilly Valenzuela?
After establishing his name in beauty and even entrepreneurial scenes, Guilly aims to manifest the year as “much bigger, brighter, and bolder.”
With all the ups and downs amid the trying times, he refuses to relinquish his passion and instead treats it as an achievement for surviving. Moreover, everyone could expect to see more of him in “bigger scenes” with “bigger people” in the industry.
Last July 2020, he launched his own Youtube channel which revolves around makeup tutorials, daily vlogs, and more. Going further, his subscribers have something to look forward to as he makes sure to put more effort this year!
Certainly, Guilly shared that he will still continue to help beauty queens under the beauty pageant camp: The CAMP.
But beyond that, behold and prepare to witness as Guilly sets his sight in the newly announced Philippine edition of the popular fashion and lifestyle magazine, Vogue.
“If God’s will, you’ll see my name on Vogue Magazine PH and if this will happen, this will be another big milestone under my belt.”
