The Trophy Wife Series might just be the next big thing on TikTok
Every now and then, new content comes up our For You Page. As we can see, Filipino content creators have been constantly releasing POV videos on TikTok. Because of its wide reach and positive feedback from the audience, the supposed standalone content turns into a series.
Rain Matienzo, a former UAAP courtside reporter turned TikTok celebrity, released the Trophy Wife skit.
What seems to be a singular idea at first turned into web of point-of-views.
Her imaginary rich CEO husband also materialized in the form of Landamme Vivas. Several other characters in the series are also now being portrayed by other influencers like Ayn Bernos and Rica Salomon.
The Trophy Wife
Initially, Rain just posted a couple of TikTok videos describing her ultimate dream job — to become a hot trophy wife.

After a favorable reaction from her viewers, she then posted her first Trophy Wife POV.

Then began her series of TikToks starring her Trophy Wife persona. By far, the most popular episode on this series is the one where she visits her son Iñigo’s football training.

I can probably say that this video unlocked the character of her CEO husband.
The Rich Husband
Landamme posted his portrayal of the Trophy Wife’s husband, in what seems to be a continuation of the football training visit.

Gaining a positive feedback, Landamme, with the approval of those who follow the series, released his own POV videos as replies or continuations of the Rain’s content.

Husband and Wife duets
The two creators are now duetting each other’s videos at this point that netizens admitted to be so invested in the series and in the possibility of them getting together as well in real life.

“Invested na kami… panindigan niyo kami,” one user commented.
“Ngayon nalang ulit ako kinilig since AlDub,” said another.
The setup of the Trophy Wife series can definitely be compared to AlDub’s beginnings back in 2015. The accidental pairing of Yaya Dub and Alden has been a massive hit with the viewers.

Other characters have also come to surface following the Trophy Wife series storyline — Iñigo’s yaya portrayed by Rica Salomon and the husband’s ex-girlfriend in the form of Ayn Bernos.

Well, it looks like this TikTok series is going to take off. Followers of this cinematic universe can’t get enough of the storyline because it looks like another character will soon be unlocked — the Trophy Wife’s mother-in-law!
