Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua is Miss Universe 2023

The land of fire and water is now burning with elation and overflowing with happiness as they finally made history! Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios wins the coveted title of Miss Universe 2023.

Becoming the first woman from her country to win the pageant, she succeeds R’Bonney Gabriel of the USA.

The pageant’s grand coronation took place on November 19 (Manila Time) at the José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador. A total of 84 women competed for the crown.

Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua is Miss Universe 2023

A 23-year-old model and community developer, Sheynnis is a graduate of mass communication from the Universidad Centroamericana. Not new to pageantry, she is a former Miss World Nicaragua in 2020. Competing at Miss World 2021, she places among the Top 40 quarterfinalists.

An advocate for positive mental health, she helps raise awareness for anxiety disorders.

Thailand’s Anntonia Porsild comes in second as 1st runner-up, and Moraya Wilson of Australia completes the Final Three by placing 2nd runner-up.

Meanwhile, Michelle Marquez Dee of the Philippines finishes in the Top 10. Winning the special award of Spirit of Carnival, she is also a gold recipient for the Voice for Change.

Ending the night with a surprising news, it was also revealed that Mexico will be hosting Miss Universe next year.

Miss Universe 2023 is hosted by Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo as well as TV Personalities Jeannie Mai and Maria Menounos. Serving as backstage commentators are TV Host Zuri Hall and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.
