Savage Lines From Jean Garcia That Made Us Laugh

If scrolling on Facebook is your thing, it’s impossible you haven’t seen at least one clip from GMA Teleserye, Kambal Karibal. Some scenes, especially those of Jean Garcia, are making rounds on social media because of her utterly hilarious lines. In this show, she portrayed the character of Teresa Abaya-Bautista, one of the main antagonists.

Jean Garcia has done it all and to say that she’s a great actress is an understatement. We’re actually very lucky to see her still on television, showcasing her acting prowess. With her long list of movies and teleserye, we’ve seen her play many kinds of roles. What makes Teresa different is her savage lines and barbaric behavior that come across as funny. It’s been years since Kambal Karibal aired on GMA Telebabad but her character on the show will probably remain as a meme for a long time.

Here are some of Jean Garcia’s remarkable lines from Kambal Karibal that made rounds online and gained thousands of laugh reactions.

Dine and Dash

In one scene, she was asked by the waiter to pay for the food she consumed in a restaurant. With no intention to pay, she responded with, “Ay naku, hindi masarap kaya ‘yang pagkain niyo noh. Akin na ‘tong takeout ko! Babush!” Anyone would be dumbfounded for sure if they hear this in real life.

Advance Mag-isip

When Teresa spotted a woman lurking outside her daughter’s house, she’s quick to make her accusation. When called ‘aching’, she respond, “Hoy panget, ‘wag mo kong tatawaging aching. Hindi ako bakla! Sino ka? Anong ginagawa mo dito? Bakit sisilip-silip ka sa bahay ng aking anak? Eh kasi, magnanakaw ka noh? May binabalak kang masama. Gusto mong pasukin ang bahay ng anak ko. Tama ba ako?” This is probably the literal definition of the popular phrase ‘advance mag-isip.’ She ended their conversation with, “Sige, umalis ka! Bruhang ‘to.”

Fight then Flight

Upon gunning down a policeman after they scuffled, she exclaimed, “Ay, nagulat ako! Ano ba ‘yan kabayo ka! Manong naman, bakit ka tumayo kasi? Wala akong kasalanan. Sorry…” And then she ran off. The right thing to do after committing a serious crime LOL.

Petty Mom

The funniest for me was when her daughter Cheska, wants to play with another girl who doesn’t appear to be rich. Teresa declined by saying, “Eh kung mahawa ka ng kurikong d’yan!” The girl responded, “Wala po akong kurikong.” But she exclaimed, “Mukha kang kurikong!” I’m not sure if it’s okay to laugh at such an absurd insult but Jean Garcia’s acting is so convincing, it’s hard not to.

How often do we encounter funny kontrabidas? Perhaps, only a few can nail this role and Jean Garcia being herself, of course, she did. Her acting is so promising that it became annoyingly funny which I guess is how they intend it to be. Indeed, it is viral-worthy.
