Nadine Lustre: The Unabashed Queen

Nadine Lustre

Every presence of the Philippines’ Multimedia Princess always serves nothing but good madness, but she’s not gonna sing teenybopper and cheesy love songs as you please anymore. Previously hailed as 2017’s Sexiest Woman in the Land, voted as the Most Beautiful Woman in the Philippines various times, and dubbed as the country’s “President,” Nadine Lustre has the newest addition to the list of her earned titles—The Unabashed Queen.

Nadine Lustre: The Unabashed Queen

An actress, singer, dancer, creative artist, and a baddie. Here comes the door made for surpassing normalcy, and Nadine holds the key. She’s a woman deemed to make a dramatic and monumental change that is guaranteed to shake us to the core. As a lionhearted, she always wears the courage to speak her mind and bring hellfire to the haters, justifying that she’s stan-worthy in the industry. A seriously fierce femme that you go to war beside – not against. Come on, guys, it’s Nadine Lustre.

Redefining royalty

Like a queen on a chessboard, Nadine can wander everywhere. But, frankly, this is not medieval times. She’s not a queen living to your expectations, not a dog to your bidding. She’s her own Nadine – authentic and unconventional. She doesn’t need royal shoes on her feet as she prefers to walk barefoot on the sands of the Siargao Island like her own red carpet, dressed in stylish bikinis, with a bottled Mang Tomas too, I hope.

In her element, she prefers to flaunt her blinding plethora of beauty – that glowing morena skin that she was once insecure about has become her newfound glory. Society made us believe it was all about mestizas, but time made her confident in wearing the sun on her skin that she keeps coming back to the shore, like a kingdom made for her. Your opinion? Canceled.

Growing up, I had a lot of insecurities…The biggest one is my skin color…I realized that I’m unique and no one else has what I have, so I became proud of it. I embraced it. And because now I’m free from all those insecurities, I have that power to also inspire other girls like me.

Soft yet strong

The loud shutter clicks and camera flashes are all for the queen, but life can be as ugly as black and white. The media and the public can treat you like you’re the weakest, a mere pawn in a game. The fan frenzy may be deafening for a while, but you can’t escape the scrutiny that can dig even the deepest depth of your personal life.

People think we have perfect lives, but it’s not all glitz and glamour. We’re also real people with real problems.

Despite her humanistic inner blues and secret sorrows, Nadine is still blooming like a flower in her infallible self-love. Among the awards she received, learning to love herself must be her best and most valuable success. As she goes,

If you think you’re weak, you will be weak.
If you tell yourself you are not worthy, you will be unworthy.
But, if you say you’re strong, you will be strong and if you tell yourself you can do it, you can do anything. The only validation that you will ever need is one from yourself.

Awakened from a fever dream

In the past, Nadine was hampered by fear in her career, where her posts, wardrobe, and even hairstyle were decided for her. But, she refused to be held captive and forever caged like a wild animal. Her old self is dead and gone because she’s a master of her will now.

Nadine once settled a dispute with her agency, Viva Entertainment, as she wanted to retain her brand identity and image rights. Fair enough, only Nadine can now decide for herself while still under her agency’s contract. Real, raw, honest, and vulnerable–that’s how she should be remembered.

There may be lovelier and new sprouting seeds in the industry, but Nadine shines in her own prowess and identity. She burns so intensely that nobody with a made-up blaze can even compete. Figuratively, like a game of chess, let’s await her next shocking move as she sexily mouths the winning word, “checkmate.”
