Genshin Impact 3.0: The New Region of Sumeru! Teaser
Genshin Impact is going to introduce a new region inside the realm of Teyvat. Say goodbye to the island chain of Inazuma. From the west of Liyue, a new region is taking place. Long and behold, the region of Sumeru!
The New Region
Pack up your bags from the Golden Archipelago, say your goodbyes to people you will leave behind in Inazuma. Travelers, it is now the time to do another long adventure. This time, we are going to explore the bountiful and rich environment in the nation of Sumeru.
Hoyoverse is not taking any chances in withholding the hype surrounding the new region. Ahead of the Version 2.8 update, which is considered to be the last of Version 2.0, The company is releasing teasers prior to the upcoming big update which will bring the region of Sumeru for adventurers to take a journey on.
The region of Sumeru is divided into two biomes, one surrounded by rich biodiversity and life and another surrounded by barren deserts and famine.
In a nation blessed by the Dendro archon, the visual landscape of the region releases rich vegetation, endless mountains and a vast amount of unknown areas
Behind the beauty of the domain, a mysterious force destroys the life of the region leaving barren areas of dust and sand sucking the life out of Sumeru.
It is then up to you to solve these mysteries to save Sumeru from the plague it endures.
Teasing The Dendro Element
In the seven element system of the game. It is time to welcome the last element to complete the chain. Dendro, the element of life and wisdom. Time to expect some new reactions, now that the element becomes usable for players.
The first version of the game introduced Dendro and so far the only know reaction was the combination of Pyro + Dendro which resolves in the Burning reaction. Now, more reactions are introduced with their effects to be explored by the traveler:
Dendro + Hydro = Bloom reaction
Dendro +Electro = Catalyze reaction
Area-specialized reactions just like in previous regions are re-introduced, where the combination of multiple elements leads to different interactive effects to help the traveler solve quests, mysteries, and acts.
As players continue their gameplay throughout the region, they will explore more reactions and more mysteries to increase their curiosity surrounding Sumeru.
The people that never dreams
In a nation that treasures wisdom as knowledge as a resource, the nation and its people focus on rationality. The region is run by an organization called “Akademiya”, wherein the people employ the Gnosis-powered legacy through the Akasha system left by their former Dendro Archon, the greater Lord Rukkhadevata.
There is a saying in this region, “The people of Sumeru don’t dream.” With this saying, the Sumeru people take pride in it.
What to expect?: Monsters, Animals, and People
In every introduction to a new region, you can definitely expect the introduction of new monsters. This time, Sumeru utilizes monsters that are heavily created from plants and animals.
The Shroom-kin mobs differ per elemental type with their difference in designs. Inside the game, the Shroom-kin’s has an ability to reproduce which makes them evolve and become entirely new territorial and aggressive monsters called the Fungi.
Sumeru also introduces new animals that travelers may encounter throughout their journey in the region. Through exploration, the traveler can unravel more details about the animals in the region. With this, they may also encounter “The Emerites”, a new civilized force that inhabits the desert realm of the region. The Eremites value strength inline with the Sumeru people’s value of wisdom.
New Upcoming Playable Characters?!
In the preview of the upcoming region, it seems like HoYoverse definitely showcased some of the companions along with the other things that the traveler will encounter while in the game, and it is without doubt that these companions will surely become future playable characters as soon as the updates around the region continue in the future.
