Dingalan, Aurora: The Batanes of the East
Dingalan is one of the most scenic places in the Philippines. It is located in the northeast part of Luzon, facing the Pacific Ocean. It is often tagged as the “Batanes of the East” because of their similarities. Batanes and Dingalan, as people said, have the same mountain landscapes and ocean scenery. White Beach in Dingalan
White beach is one of the famous spots in Dingalan. Unfortunately, its name does not reflect the place itself as it is no longer white. According to locals, the white beach used to be really a white beach not until a landslide from its neighboring mountains occurred which impacted its color and texture. Nevertheless, it is still a great place for a swim.
Lamao Cave in Dingalan
On a seaside cliff in Barangay Paltic, there are 12 caves which are Lamao Caves. At low tide, the boat can enter into one of the biggest caves and tourists can jump off the boat and enjoy the bluish cold water coming from the Pacific Ocean. They can also either do swimming, snorkeling, or cliff jumping.
Suah Rock Formation
Suah rock formation offers a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean. It is one of the best spots in Dingalan, Aurora. The boats can dock on a less rocky shore, and then tourists can hike for about 15 minutes to reach the tip of the rock formation.
Mountain View Deck
Mountain view deck is what made Dingalan famous. A number of photos taken here have circulated on social media which is why Dingalan has been discovered and travelers start gravitating towards it. The mountain view deck is a 20-minute uphill treck from the white beach which will bring you to a viewing deck on top of a hill with an amazing view of Dingalan’s rugged coastline. This view gives you a panoramic picture of the mountains meeting the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. This view is often associated to the landscape found in Batanes and this is the reason why Dingalan has been dubbed as the Batanes of the East.
