Purple Rice Serves A Royal Thai Concept On To The Filipino Hapag

Serving up Thai flavors with Filipino ways of coming together, Purple Rice brings an elevated royal concept to its newest branch at Glorietta.

The concept of the dining table in the Philippines has always been more than a place to eat. It is where family and friends gather, colleagues become companions, and food makes room for connection. At Purple Rice, that spirit meets the bold flavors and culinary traditions of Thailand. Now, the restaurant brings this philosophy to a new setting with Purple Rice Royal at Glorietta 2, Makati.

Purple Rice Royal marks the brand’s sixth branch and introduces a more elevated expression of its signature dining experience. The interiors pair warm lighting, woven rattan, and light wood with dark green tiles and foliage, accented by touches of Thai royal purple. The result is a contemporary dining space that balances refined design with a welcoming atmosphere, with the Filipino hapag (dining table) at the heart of the experience.

Curry Crab & Roe Claypot

Leading the new concept are two dishes created exclusively for Purple Rice Royal. The Curry Crab & Roe Claypot combines sweet crab meat and rich crab roe with Thai-style egg fried rice, topped with an aromatic curry sauce and served sizzling in a traditional claypot.

The Crying Tiger Angus Steak offers another bold take on Thai flavors, featuring smoky grilled rib-eye paired with Nam Jim Jaew, a Thai dipping sauce known for its bright, herbaceous notes. Designed for sharing, both dishes reflect the restaurant’s approach to Thai cuisine while offering diners new reasons to visit its Glorietta branch.

But one more jewel in Purple Rice’s newest branch shines. The experience extends beyond lunch and dinner with a new coffee and beverage concept. Familiar flavors such as coconut and pandan feature in the Coco Pandan Latte and Coco Pandan Black Tea Soda, while Thai basil adds a fragrant twist to the Passionfruit Basil Black Tea Soda. The menu also includes classics and modern takes like the Sea Salt Latte, Espresso Coke Float, Matcha Strawberry, and Ube Latte, among other options. Guests can enjoy the drinks alongside a meal or take one to go for an afternoon break.
