BTS got 4 nominations for the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards

The Superstar South Korean Pop group BTS receives four category nominations at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

BTS got nominations in the categories of Best Choreography, Best Metaverse Performance, Best Visual Effects, and Best K-pop.

Let’s have a short timeline of the BTS awards at the MTV ceremony. In 2017, the K-pop band has been awarded the MTV awards. In 2019, Bts won two titles and took four awards in 2020. Moreover, just last 2021 they won three categories, that include the Group of the Year.

BTS MTV Awards Nominations

The nomination for the Best Choreography includes their third English song  Permission to Dance. Along with that is As it Was by Harry Styles, Woman by Doja Cat, and Tears in the Club by FKA Twigs.

For the Best Metaverse award, the BTS performance in Minecraft received it, along with Justine Bieber, Charli XCX, BLACKPINK, Twenty One Pilots Concert Experience, and Rift Tour ft. Ariana Grande.

For the Best Visual Effects nomination, My Universe by the collaborative song of BTS and Coldplay got the category.

Along with the nomination list is the Heart Part 5 by Kendrick Lamar, Happier Than Ever by Billie Eilish, Industry Baby by Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow, Stay by Justin Bieber, and The Kid Laroi, and Sweetest Pie by Dua Lipa and Megan Stallion.

Lastly, for the Best K-pop nomination, BTS’s lead single from the Album Proof Yet To Come was in the category with Seventeen, Lisa, TWICE, and ITZY.

Other Korean Acts such as Blackpink’s Lisa Manoban make history as the first Korean soloist to make it out of the list.

On the other hand, the K-pop boy group Seventeen also got three nominations for Best New Artist, Best Push Performance of the Year, and Best K-pop.
