Binibining Pilipinas 2023 candidates take part in a Red Cross blood donation event
Binibining Pilipinas continues to utilize its pageant for social good as this year’s candidates participate in a blood donation drive. Taking place on February 18 at the Farmers Plaza, the event was organized by the Philippine Red Cross.
In a social media post, Binibining Pilipinas shares a photo of the candidates along with their respective blood donations. The caption reads:
“Being a Binibini comes with upholding the vision of helping the society by all means. Their first mission is to save lives. Through the help of Red Cross, the girls are here to take their first step in becoming a true queen.”

With all the forty official candidates present, those who passed the health screening were able to lend their hands – or in this case, their forearms. Meanwhile, the rest listened to a seminar, discussing the importance of donating blood.
Kicking off the pageant’s series of charity works, the activity aims to help replenish supply in the country’s blood bank. According to PRC Quezon City Chapter Administrator Janice Melody Alfonso, the cancellation of blood donations due to the pandemic has caused blood supply to reach “insufficient and critical level”.
