VIP STANDING: Tips for a more enjoyable concert experience!

After a long pandemic quarantine lockdown, we are almost back to normal, which means that many of the things we love are returning for us to enjoy. Nowadays, it’s possible to enjoy cinemas, festivals, and much more, without strict compliance like in the past few years. In keeping with this, the entertainment industry has started to bring us enjoyable performances once again through concerts!

Our dream of seeing our favorite singers becomes a reality thanks to concert producers, who support the high demand brought on by the Philippines’ massive fan bases. Of course, many fans missed attending a concert; so they won’t miss the chance to see their idols in person. Some of them will seize the opportunity of their idols coming to their countries, hence, they will aim for the closest section of the concert — the VIP standing section!

To have a better concert experience, there are a few things you must know if you want to be in the VIP Standing section!

Okay, first of all, keep in mind that you will be able to enjoy the exact setlist of the show regardless of your seat and section at the concert. You will still see your favorite artist or artists, too! You should, however, think about purchasing a VIP standing ticket if you can if you want a more interactive experience, such as possible Y/N moments with your idols, closer fan cams, or receiving a flower basket from your bias since he ran out of roses to offer like Hendery!

Know the concert’s schedule and the assigned entrance for your ticket tier.

We don’t want to be late, or even worse, arrive on time but get lost in the venue. This is why it’s important to be aware of the schedule and entrances.

A few days before the concert, concert organizers typically post their PUBMATS for attendees’ reference. FAQs are typically included, including the time of lanyard distribution (if applicable), queueing start, and the opening time of gates. Follow the schedule exactly, especially if you have a queueing number assigned to you. Keep in mind that there are no reserved seats in the VIP standing section, unlike other areas. So your desire to be in the barricade or closer to the stage may be shattered if you arrive late.Ā

You should also be aware of the proper queue to follow. There are designated entrances or gates for other sections at concert venues like the MOA Arena, Araneta Coliseum, and others. You wouldn’t want to wait in line for hours just to discover that you were at the wrong gate or entrance, right?

Wear a concert-friendly outfit.

Don’t worry, a too-fab outfit won’t prevent you from entering the venue because there is no dress code for concerts. So what does it mean to wear a concert-friendly outfit? Well, although styles differ from person to person, you should make sure that whatever you wear is comfortable for you.

If your outfit gives you an extra confidence boost, it’s okay to go over and beyond. However, you should make sure you’re capable of handling it. The last thing you should be concerned about is your clothes making you uncomfortable. This is because you will be standing in the crowd for hours wearing the outfit that you will choose.

Bring the smallest bag you have that will fit all you need.

It is strongly advised that you use a small bag for your good. This is in addition to the maximum size of the bag that is allowed by the concert guidelines. There’s no place to leave your bag while enjoying the concert if you donā€™t leave it at the baggage counter. But if you are aiming for a good spot, lining up at the baggage counter will be a hassle. You will therefore be carrying your bag the entire show and a large one would be very troublesome.Ā

While it’s advised to carry the smallest bag you have, you still need to make sure it has enough room for everything you’ll need for the day. Included in this may be your ticket, phone, lightstick, and your other personal stuff. If you have a favorite photocard, feel free to bring it too!

Reserve your energy before the concert.

The majority of concertgoers overlook this. It makes sense that you would want to walk around the venue to meet with your Twitter friends or collect fan-made freebies, but keep in mind that you will still need the stamina to get through the standing concert experience. You will need to make sure that you eat enough food and stay hydrated to provide you with energy for the concert. While your idol is performing right in front of you, you don’t want to hear the growling sound of your stomach.

Or have an aching one. This is one of the worst times for mother nature to call, and regrettably, there might not be a reject button for this one. As we are discussing VIP standing here, good luck if you are in the middle of the crowd. At the same time, you may end up missing out on a perfect spot in the crowd since you might not be able to go back after using the restroom. So be sure to get some bio break before the concert!

Maintain good hygiene.

You will undoubtedly sweat a lot because concerts run for hours, especially if you are standing in a crowded area. In addition, as most performances begin in the late afternoon or early evening, you have already spent half the day outside before going into the concert venue.

Also, the closer you go to the stage, the more VIP standing ticket holders will be situated close to one another. So it’s not okay to skip proper hygiene from your concert preparation checklist. It will not only make you uncomfortable but also the people around you.

Make this moment memorable for others ā€“ in a positive way, so please have proper hygiene.

Respect your co-concert attendees and enjoy the concert!

I am aware that this is a bare minimum and that it ought to be common sense. However, because of the euphoria of the moment, some people fail to realize that they are not the only concertgoers. People in the VIP standing section, for instance, frequently experience body aches or bruises after the concert as a result of those around them pushing and shoving them.

Yes, some attendees will try to get as close to the stage or the barricade as possible to maximize their VIP standing experience. And how do you do that? No, there isn’t a real way, therefore people will cram themselves into whatever little or no space they can find. You will suffer physical harm as a result of this, which will greatly ruin the fun.

Respect the people around you and allow them to enjoy the concert just as much as you do. You are all fans of the same artists, after all.

This concludes the tips for VIP standing ticket holders. Attending a concert alone is already a great memory, but experiencing it without any issues will make it a top-tier one. You wouldn’t want to regret something when you are supposed to be enjoying a great time of your life. We hope for an enjoyable VIP standing concert memory for everyone!
