10 Actors That Were Born To Play A Certain Character Role

Every time we watch a film or a series, we will always have that one favorite character. We like this character for different reasons. Either we relate to them, or they are just extremely badass. But what we must forget is that with great character comes a great actor. The actors’ portrayal of the character is so important. It is what makes these often fictional characters come to life. It makes them real and unique. With such great acting, you would even forget that these characters are just mere actors because they become what they portray. From looks to the traits, sometimes you’d think there is no other actor who could have played that character better.

10 Actors That Were Born To Play A Certain Character Role

Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia

Believe it or not, a significant portion of The Witcher enjoyers only watched the series for Henry Cavill. Which is totally understandable. You would think that the sole intent of watching it is because of Henry Cavill’s intense manly charisma.

Henry Cavill, the phenomenal Geralt actor.

But eventually, you would realize that it is his stunning and phenomenal performance that made you stick through the whole show. So, no offense to Liam Hemsworth but I definitely feel for those who are upset about Henry leaving the role after season 3.

Cillian Murphy as Thomas Shelby

Cillian Murphy as a gangster might sound trivial when you haven’t seen Peaky Blinders yet. But once you have, there is just no way you could separate Thomas Shelby’s badass gangster aura from him. In fact, even Cillian himself finds it hard to detach himself from Thomas Shelby’s character on set.

Cillian Murphy, the actor known for his role as Thomas Shelby.

He played this role so perfectly that even if he can heartlessly murder sometimes, you would love his character. Cillian Murphy perfectly portrayed Thomas’ complexity as a character considering the life he follows. Definitely Cillian’s most iconic role so far.

Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lecter

Who else could have portrayed a cunning, classy, and rather curious man aside from Mads Mikkelsen? Hannibal Lecter was so iconic thanks to Mads’ amazing portrayal.

Despite other actors who played the Hannibal role, Mads Mikkelsen remains iconic.

Of course, there will always be the great Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal but in the series’ premise, Mads Mikkelsen created a whole new look and impression for this character, and he made it so remarkable.

Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet

There have been a lot of Elizabeth Bennets throughout time but Keira Knightley’s Lizzie in the 2005 Pride and Prejudice adaptation is inarguably the best portrayal. Knightley brought this character to life and it is almost sarcastic to think that she had struggled acting out Jane Austen’s masterpiece. Lizzie is a smart, cunning, and charming young woman who embodies prejudice.

Eventually, she meets Mr. Darcy, whose embodiment is pride as the title of the movie suggests. Knightley’s charisma, mannerisms, and emotional expressions perfectly display that of a woman whose emotional independence is untouchable. Truly one of her best performances in all of her countless character roles.

Tom Hardy as Alfie Solomons

Alfie Solomons is the only character that could steal Thomas Shelby’s spotlight. His character alone is already complex but there is a Tom Hardy to portray it effortlessly.

One of the best and most versatile actors of all time.

Tom Hardy’s versatility as an actor really showed off in this role. He is so different from Alfie but he became one with him. Tom Hardy definitely nailed this role and it is definitely one of his best performances so far.

Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen

The one and only girl on fire, Katniss Everdeen. Jennifer Lawrence’s charm and mysterious charisma fit Katniss’ character perfectly. Jennifer succeeded in portraying the emotions and expressions of a woman so desperately struggling to survive flawlessly.

In fact, she outdid the entire movie. You thought Hunger Games was all about Katniss but as it turns out, it’s all about Jennifer Lawrence. No wonder it became her most famous role in all of her discography.

Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson as Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, and Hemione Granger

Of course, there is just no way that “The Golden Trio” wouldn’t make it to this list. If you are a Harry Potter reader, you would know how perfectly the actors look like how the characters were described in the book.

Save for Daniel Radcliffe’s blue eyes as opposed to Harry Potter’s canonically green eyes, everything else is just accurate. Acting-wise, they also perfectly executed the characters even as young child stars.

Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man or Tony Stark

When you watch RDJ as the ever-so-iconic Iron Man or Tony Stark, you don’t just see acting. You are seeing one whole character indivisible from one another. RDJ embodied Tony Stark’s quirky, sarcastic, and funny attitude.

He is one of the best casting ever made in the entirety of the Marvel cinematic universe.  No wonder he made $435 million playing this character alone.

Joseph Morgan as Klaus Mikaelson

You would think you are supposed to loathe a character as vile and cruel as Klaus Mikaelson but well, think again. Yes, Klaus is an absolute menace and yet The Vampire Diaries and The Originals fans stick to the show for him, thanks to Joseph Morgan’s amazing acting skills.

Morgan’s acting made everyone think that Klaus is more than just this immoral, manipulative, and confidently inhumane being. He most definitely gave justice playing such a complex character role and we are all here for it.

Matt Damon as Jason Bourne

Jason Bourne is not Jason Bourne without Matt Damon, sorry Jeremy Renner. The Bourne franchise is an action-packed story as it is led by Jason Bourne, a former CIA agent who lost his memory due to amnesia on the quest to find his identity. We all know that there are a lot of great action stars that could fit such a role but Matt Damon still made it his own.

Imagine Sylvester Stallone, Tom Cruise, and Arnold Schwarzenegger were almost cast as Jason Bourne but Matt Damon’s talent and charisma still prevailed. Just goes to show just how much this role was made specifically for him.
