Hukbo Para sa Kalikasan ng Luzon is an organization in Luzon that take initiatives to protect Luzon’s wildlife biodiversity. If you didn’t notice, Earth has started to slowly die due to the damage that the people who live in it, neglecting their environment.

Since we are the ones destroying our planet, then we might as well find ways to restore it, right? Tree planting is one of the projects that many organization has. However, do you have any idea about the proper way of planting a tree? Knowing ways to protect our environment remains one thing. But, being aware of how it’s properly done is another.

A group of people decided to start an organization. They want to correctly and effectively contribute to saving the planet, specifically in Laguna first where the members resided. Then later on expanded to the whole of Luzon.

The organization is still in the process of registration as a non-government organization. Its mission aims to protect and restore wildlife biodiversity through volunteer work. They also cater to forest restoration and rehabilitation of the local environment, one municipality at a time.

They envision a revival of Luzon’s vast forests. And, the continuous expansion of woodlands to be considered nature parks to counter the effects of climate change due to deforestation. Also, making promotion and planting different species of Philippine native trees.

HPKL Raise Awareness

Hukbo Para sa Kalikasan ng Luzon’s main goal is to educate people and other eco-organizations about the importance of native trees. Also, they want to emphasize awareness of proper tree planting and the plants that do more bad than good.

Native trees are the best ecosystem supporters because they have long-standing symbiotic relationships that cannot be matched by foreign trees. Native trees more effectively sequester carbon and water, maintaining the balance of components in the atmosphere and on the ground, which helps maintain a favorable environment.

The use of social media as an opportunity to reach more audiences is a great help. HPKL conduct virtual and physical seminars in Luzon.
