Tawag ng Tanghalan’s Hazelyn Cascaño releases debut single Meron Pa Ba on Kumu.
Meron Pa Ba
The song is a power ballad inspired by Philippine divas—reminiscent of Angeline Quinto, Kuh Ledesma, and such. She belted out certain parts of it which definitely highlighted the message it wanted to convey.
It is about asking a person who she is in love with if there is still a place for her in their heart. This is presumably after their failed relationship.
Tawag ng Tanghalan as a stepping stone
Showtime’s Tawag ng Tanghalan has produced many incredible singers. They continue to conquer the stages of the Philippines with their wonderful voices and undeniable charisma.
One of them is rising singer Hazelyn Cascaño who released her debut single Meron Pa Ba on October 10, 8 pm, on the Kumu platform.
Notable performances she had on the show are songs such as I Surrender and This Is Me. She sang them for rounds 1 and 2 in the All-Star Grand Resbak in 2019.
As she promotes the single, she always starts it with the quote, writing,
“There will be obstacles, there will be doubters, there will be mistakes, but with hard work, THERE ARE NO LIMITS”
Being thankful for the milestone
On her Facebook page, she couldn’t help but feel excited upon announcing the good news. She shared how she’s grateful to have a song of her own and not a cover.
“Opo tagal ko pinangarap marinig boses ko na nakarecord at finally with my own song po. Di sya rendition or cover song kundi SARILI ko na kanta.”
(Yes, I have been waiting to hear my recorded voice and finally, with my own song. It is not a rendition or a cover but my OWN.)
To the dreamers
She also dedicated a message to the dreamers who wanted to have a song of their own.
“Pag naghintay ka talaga manyayari ng kusa samahan mo ng pagsisikap at tiwala sa sarili… Pinopost ko to di dahil gusto ko ibrag kundi gusto ko mainspire ang mga ibang artist dyan na nawalan ng confidence sa sarili.”
(When you really wait for your dream to happen, pair it with perseverance. And also, trust in yourself. I am posting this, not to brag, but to inspire other artists to not lose their confidence.)
