Perks of Living in the Countryside

Perks of Living in the Countryside

It was when I moved to the city that I realized how ungrateful I was for my life in the province. Everything in the city seemed to be fast-paced; it was hectic. Maybe for some, it was the city lights and the busy roads that drive them to work, but not for me.

If you are planning to give a shot to a ‘take your moment’ kind of life, pack your things as I’ve listed what awaits you from living in the countryside.

Lower Cost of Living

Cities are expensive to live in. You can buy bigger land in the countryside with the money you have than in an urban area. You get to spend less and use it for other living expenses.

Access to Fresh & Organic Food

In the countryside, you can find fresh fruits and vegetables right in your backyards. Given the space availability, you can plant your own and just wait until it grows. The water is crystal clear and potable; no need for a purchase to drink. You can save and eat healthier food directly from the source.

Less Pollution

Surrounded by trees, the countryside is a place with a better quality of air. Without the presence of buses roaming around and factories releasing chemical substances, the air is cleaner and non-toxic. An escape to a polluted environment means healthier lungs.

Less Traffic

Transportation in the city is undoubtedly a hassle. In the country, you can never encounter cars lining the roads. Cars were lesser but accessible. You can even ride bicycles without worries of a crowded path.

Safer Environment

People are said to be friendlier in non-urban areas. Due to a lesser number of people, they look for one another instead of doing and thinking bad of others. Lesser people equates to lesser crimes happening. In the countryside, you can sleep with the windows open.

More Privacy

Houses are far from one another. Unlike in the cities where houses were built side-by-side, the countryside has bigger spaces for more privacy. You can’t even hear your neighbor’s shout unless said twice.

Animal-Friendly

You can have as many pets as you want. As they prefer a peaceful place, and studies suggest that they live longer in such an environment, the countrysides are perfect for pet-lovers.

Access to Nature

You do not have to travel long hours for a marvelous sight. Sunsets can be seen as it slowly fades along the greens. You can also have a free star gazing experience by giving a glimpse outside. Research says that being close to nature not only improves physical but mental health as well. It’s a double kill.

Living in the countryside indeed has a lot to offer. More than mentioned, a simple life is what it offers the best. If you’d like to have your coffee while hearing the chirping of the birds, then you might want to consider settling in the countryside.
