Ahead of its coronation night, Miss Supranational held its annual national costume presentation. Donning beautiful and elaborate masterpieces, the sixty-five candidates proudly show their country’s colorful culture and amazing artistry.

For Miss Philippines, Pauline Amelinckx opted to wear one of our country’s traditional and staple clothing, but with a modern twist. Wearing a Filipiñana in the supra stage, the costume perfectly reflects her aspirational journey in representing the country.

Named the “The rebirth of the terno”, the red custom-made Filipiñana aims to represent the Filipina’s power, pride, strength, and the willingness to fight for her own freedom and rights. Designed by Filipino designer Ehrran Montoya, it is described as, “a classic silhouette, following the traditional draping and ’70s sophisticated butterfly sleeves.”

The costume also has a lavish train, elaborately designed with intricate embroidery and adorned with a variety of beadwork. Completing the look with a traditional umbrella, it boasts an eye-catching “Okir” pattern which is typical among the Moro and Lumad tribes as well as some regions in Sabah.

The coronation night of Miss Supranational 2023 will begin at 2 A.M. here in the Philippines. The pageant’s official YouTube channel will provide livestream coverage of the event.
