Ariana Mocorro Represents the Philippines at Miss Trans Star International 2026
For Ariana “RiRi” Mocorro, representing the Philippines on an international pageant stage is more than a moment under the spotlight. It is a return to the country where her journey began and an opportunity to bring with her a story shaped by education, healthcare, community service, and advocacy.
A Filipino-American Nurse Practitioner, ICU nurse, public health professional, community leader, and advocate, Ariana has built a career centered on service and empowerment. Now, as Miss Trans Star Philippines 2026, she is preparing to represent the Philippines at the Miss Trans Star International 2026 competition in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where 22 candidates will compete from October 3 to 10.
For Ariana, the crown is not simply about beauty. It is another platform through which she hopes to show what transgender women can achieve when they are given meaningful opportunities to learn, work, lead, and serve.
From the Philippines to a Life of Service
Born and raised in the Philippines, Ariana began her professional journey at Far Eastern University (FEU) Manila, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and graduated Cum Laude. After becoming a Registered Nurse in the Philippines, she continued her nursing career in the United States, eventually becoming a Registered Nurse in California.
Her career has since taken her across different areas of healthcare, including critical care, public health, primary care, mental health, and addiction medicine.
As an ICU nurse, Ariana works with critically ill patients during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. The experience has strengthened her clinical judgment and resilience while deepening her appreciation for compassion and the value of human life.
Her work as a Nurse Practitioner extends that commitment beyond the hospital. She serves underserved and marginalized communities, including people facing substance use and drug dependency, mental health challenges, homelessness, primary care needs, and other social determinants of health.
It is a career that reflects her belief that healthcare is not only about treating illness, but also about helping people regain stability, dignity, and hope.
Education as a Path to Empowerment
Ariana’s journey is also defined by her commitment to education.
After moving to the United States, she earned a Master of Public Health from San Francisco State University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of San Francisco. Most recently, she completed advanced training as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the University of California.
During the program, Ariana served as her class representative and selected to deliver the commencement address on behalf of her graduating class.
Standing before her academic community as a transgender Filipina, healthcare professional, and class leader became a meaningful part of her journey. For Ariana, the moment represented what can happen when transgender people given access to education and opportunities to develop their skills and leadership.
Her advocacy is rooted in this same belief. She hopes to see more transgender people gain equitable access to education, employment, healthcare, leadership, and socioeconomic opportunities.
Bringing Advocacy to the Pageant Stage
Beyond her work in healthcare, Ariana has spent years involved in community service, nursing leadership, mentorship, HIV advocacy, public health, and LGBTQIA+ empowerment.
Her experience has brought her into professional organizations, academic institutions, community initiatives, and international spaces where she continues to advocate for equality, health equity, inclusion, education, human rights, and social justice.
Pageantry has become another extension of that work.
In 2026, Ariana also represented the United States as Miss Trans Global USA 2026 in London, United Kingdom. While the official results of that competition have been delayed, the experience gave her another opportunity to bring her story and advocacy to an international audience.
Now, representing the Philippines carries a different kind of meaning.
“Yours truly, Ariana, has been officially introduced as the Miss Trans Star Philippines 2026 to represent my beloved country, The Philippines,” she shared in a message calling on Filipino supporters to follow the Miss Trans Star International social media pages, engage with her posts, and support her throughout the competition.
A New Chapter at Miss Trans Star International 2026
The pageant also enters a new chapter following the resignation of Miss Trans Star International 2025 Kloe Rios-Wyatt of Mexico, crowned in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Kloe recently stepped down from her title amid her participation in the ongoing Miss International Queen 2026 pageant in Thailand. Following her resignation, Miss Trans Star Philippines 2025 Myka Red Osorio assumed the Ambassadress position of MTSI 2025.
As Ariana prepares to take the Philippine sash, she carries with her years of professional accomplishments. She carries the story of a Filipina who began her career in health education, community organizing, and nursing, pursued advanced education abroad, served communities in need, and continued finding ways to create space for LGBTQIA+, especially transgender people in fields where representation matters.
For Ariana, that is ultimately what the crown represents: possibility.
“Give transgender people the opportunity to learn, to work, to lead, and to serve—and we will not only thrive, we will help our communities thrive with us.”
At Miss Trans Star International 2026, Ariana hopes to bring that message with her—not only as a beauty queen, but as a nurse, educator, advocate, immigrant, mentor, and proud Filipina returning to the world stage with a purpose bigger than the crown.
