Nowadays, many international pageants have started to make monumental moves by veering away from its initial and traditional form and moving towards a more receptive and progressive direction.

Providing opportunities for more people to chase their dream, this includes major competitions such as Miss and Mister Supranational.

In separate social media posts on September 14, both have released their updated set of requirements. Among its most notable changes is allowing trans-candidates to compete in the pageant of their choice.

According to the said posts, the pageant welcomes all men and women – as indicated in all their official documents – between the ages of 18 and 32. Although there are no longer any height or body restrictions, the rules nevertheless still prohibit marriage and childbirth.

Furthermore, all candidates are required to have a “from the ground up” community service initiative. This means that they must devote time and passion by giving back and helping their local communities.

All these changes are expected to be applied effectively by its affiliated national competitions by next year.
